Neither, really. I just want everyone to be on the same page in what is going to happen. I want Linden to be fully aware of what’s coming, and give them plenty of time to make a statement saying it’s not allowed, if that’s what they want.

If you want my own stance: Gacha script creators never play gachas. I’ve taken the scripting requests for some pretty abhorrent coded manipulative behavior. If you knew what I knew, you wouldn’t touch one.

Gatchas, along with tummy talkers, spankers and anything to do with prim babies, are among the few things I will never make, no matter how much I'm offered.

I’ll write anything. I take no responsibility for what others want. Their script is going to get written regardless. At least with me it won’t be as laggy than the next guy’s.

I've had to do more than enough in RL that I didn't like as part of various jobs.

SL is for fun, my alts make enough writing stuff I enjoy (or at least find an interesting challenge), and no one in SL would pay me the sort of RL money I charge for stuff I don't want to do.

Kind of the same here... I've only touched in basic scripting in SL when bored which surprises people who know I even have a masters in computer science... it just doesn't pay well and even if it's jut for fun, I usually can do more in C++ or something.

Replying to this one since the post got deleted... just saying that I'm glad SOMEONE scripts in SL.... I think I'd have a lot more motivation to do it if I was also a 3D artist and needed scripts for my own designs.

I'm hopeless as a 3-D artist, but I do enjoy helping people who as clueless about LSL as I am about blender to make their creations interactive.

Honestly, LSL has always felt like a hack - and I used to code in MPI and MUF..... poorly documented and seems like a lot of trial and error.

of course, I'd just started my comp sci degree when i had to move suddenly, and GT would let me transfer because my lab science degree was not physics, biology or chemistry. Didn't matter I'd been at another school on the Ga university system, or that GT had a geology program - it wouldn't transfer and I just said fuck it and threw up my hands and just went to doing art and coding for fun.

So yeah, who are actually the biggest customers - the average customer, or the resellers. Judging by that, I'd assume it's the resellers Oo.

Exactley - and once september starts the resellers are worthless, they won't be part of the future business plan anymore so can be dumped after they panic-bought all August.

One person we both know dumped 10K into a gacha machine because she wanted a super rare - she didn't even get a regular rare in those 100 pulls. Resellers of abusive gacha are part of the business model. They allow us to get the items we want (at horrid prices but at least reliably) but bear all the investment risk of the gacha flopping. They pay in advance and forward the cost to us by doing math on how much they expect to resell at all, how much they expect in exchange for their hard work and how long it will take them to break even. This used to work well until some creators started cranking up chances so much folks started giving away the commons for free right at the event because reselling a 100L pull common for a meager 5L on MP wasn't worth the hassle for them.

I admit the resellers are f*ed now, but stocking up on even more gacha seems a terrible investment idea for the near future.

Wasabi sent out a link to a survey in their last subscribo notice, asking people their opinions,on perms, fatpack vs single colors, etc.
So I guess they're going to sell the gacha hairs in non -gacha form and regular vendors.

I have even started doing some 3D modeling with Blender.

I got into 3D modeling (blender) totally blind about 3 years ago and I've picked it up fast.

Turns out it's not as confusing as it would seem. SL's support for it is just annoying as heck, and the kind of things it requires you do in blender is not "normal" - 3D modeling is much easier than 3D modeling for Second Life's weird model format requirements.

I'm honestly shocked there are people who actually make rigged avatar mesh content. It's so non-intuitive.

But I do know LSL like the back of my hand - yet I know how to do no real world programing language.
So when someone comes to me asking for LSL work - I'm going to say yes no matter what it is. Just so I feel like 14 years of hyperfixation wasn't a total waste.

I will defend LSL as in my top 2 cleanest and most self-consistent programing languages I know.

Yeah I fear that too, they already managed to make LL look into breedables.

Addendum: It does not seem to be the gacha fans alone. Apparently abolitionists like this Axel Naxos dude happily joined the bandwagon, ... voices in the thread already try to lure LL into looking into forbidden adult content. LL operates in India and Arabian countries. Any adult content is forbidden there, those morons have no idea what can of worms they are opening by asking LL to go after "that other" illegal vice before touching theirs.
