The thread title makes me smile on some days, roll my eyes on others.

Los ejes de mi carreta

A song from Argentina
by Atahualpa Yupanqui

translated from spanish:
Because I don't grease the axles
They call me a derelict
If I like them to sound
Why do I want them greased?
It's too boring
To follow and follow the track
Too long the road
With nothing to keep me entertained
I don't need silence
I have nothing to think about
I had, but long ago
Now I don't think any more
The axles of my cart
I'll never grease them

Meet the most British Texas ever, a pop band called Texas. Founded 1989 in Glasgow, UK, manned with Brits.

Y Caneoun Cynnarr - The Early Recordings by Mary Hopkin

I used to have an album, Those Were the Days by Mary Hopkin. It was unusual for being on Apple Records. Very few albums were. That was the Beatles label. It seems to have been lost to the mists of time. Discogs.com doesn't list it. It remains in my mind though for Mary's beautiful vocals. I got into the mood for listening to her, old stuff and new. She was from Wales. There is an album on spotify I had never heard, Y Caneoun Cynnarr - The Early Recordings. Why they are the early recordings I don't know. It was released in 1996. All the songs are in Welsh. Tor Tor Tor is a Welsh translation of Turn, Turn, Turn. Draw Dros Y Moroedd is the song Guantanamera. Rhybeth Syml is Something Stupid by Frank Sinatra. That took a few minutes for my brain to remember. I know this tune but what is it? Aderyn Llywd was on her Those Were The Days album, a beautiful song named Sparrow but now in Welsh. The rest of the songs are new to me. They are so beautiful even though I do not know the language.

Composer and singer Herbert Grönemeyer wrote this song "Mensch" - so human being - after the death of his wife to cope with his deep sadness.

Oh well. I've been running across this kind of thing a lot lately, not being able to watch vids or read articles while living in the US!

It is nothing US specific. Here in Europe that kind of copyright related blocking happens a lot too.
It is all in the hands of the company/producer/songwriter that hold the copyrights.
I always just scroll further. One can live to become 127 years old without watching every video there is. No big deal.

I use a free vpn, ProtonVPN to be exact, and just connect to a server in the country of origin. It may not work for everything but I use it mostly to catch up Japanese shows. The official channels have been releasing blocks of episodes from various years so now I can watch Captain Harlock (5 episodes released every Tuesday!) various series of Sailor Moon and not always "mainstream" stuff like Ideon and Dougram.

VPNs are not worth the hassle for me. Even at $10 US a month I can't afford it.

Thank you though.

Protonvpn.com has a FREE VPN version too. (a bit limited in choice though).
As Caete already pointed out.
