Thanks, I'd missed a Neu (as in somewhat Neu Neu Deutsche Welle) and yeah, they were mostly pop but very, very clever thanks to Judith Holofern's lyrics. I'm going to have to look into the older groups, I skimmed a few NDW groups on YouTube and like the sound. I've also always liked Nena, although she gets a bit syrupy and her lyrics are meh so I don't do a lot of replays anymore."Wir sind Helden" is mostly a German Pop Band. Neue Deutsche Welle is a thing which happened in the 80s for a short while and then poofed around 1984, so they came over 20 years too late to that party. They had some tracks which paid hommage to NDW and indeed are in that style, but at core they are no real NDW band.
Famous original bands of the NDW era are e.g. Trio, and singers e.g. Nena (99 red balloons):
I remember recognizing "Da Da Da" instantly as "Rock-1" on the Casio I grew up with... And that glorious "piano" tone. =^-^="Wir sind Helden" is mostly a German Pop Band. I put up here in the "Nobody cares about music" thread of the forum an in depth review and demonstration of that music instrument which Trio, amongst many other like Lady Gaga and Fergie, used for that piano tone. It's being called the Casio VL-TONE VL-1, and is a mixture of calculatur and keyboard.I remember recognizing "Da Da Da" instantly as "Rock-1" on the Casio I grew up with... There was a legendary TV show back then, the Hitparade. It was based on domestic record sales, many acts of the NDW had no music videos, and only were recorded on video there. Thanks, I'd missed a Neu (as in somewhat Neu Neu Deutsche Welle) and yeah, they were mostly pop but very, very clever thanks to Judith Holofern's lyrics. I still have the one I grew up with somewhere. Even still have the bag. Just... can't find it at the moment. While looking, I found my Armatron! =^-^=I put up here in the "Nobody cares about music" thread of the forum an in depth review and demonstration of that music instrument which Trio, amongst many other like Lady Gaga and Fergie, used for that piano tone. That thing is even cheap to buy on eBay, normally around 20-40 bucks only.
