Welp. I guess a twitter account is mandatory now to read any tweets at all.

They won't allow you to register from a PC so why bother.

Narendra Modi: What are your beliefs, Elon?

Elon Musk: Well...I believe in money.

Narendra Modi: Is that it?

Elon Musk: Also...I believe in Mars!

Narendra Modi: ...
Musk is truly shallow. I've stepped in puddles deeper than him.

Yup. And that service degradation had nothing to do at all with Musky firing most of Twitter's IT staff.

His idiot followers were celebrating that nothing of value was lost immediately after he did it. It's like... if I stopped all maintenance on my car it probably won't breakdown in a week, but it will breakdown.

I had used that exact analogy, and got mocked for it. It's almost a shame I can't be there anymore to watch it all burn to the ground.

Of course you were mocked, that's what repugs do when cornered. They just insult and laugh at facts that they find inconvenient. They can't actually explain their reasoning.

If Musk were a clever or brilliant thinker, as some people still believe despite all available evidence, one could assume that he has some master plan or that he’s making strategic decisions about the scope, scale, design and functionality of the service. He is not. He has not. He is running Twitter into the ground like Donald Trump ran the US government – fueled by fits of indignation and paranoia.

When Musk tried to get out of his bid to buy Twitter, Twitter sued him for reneging on his buy offer - and won, forcing Musk to close the buy.

Musk-as-Twitter is now suing the lawfirm that represented Twitter and won the lawsuit, claiming their bill for winning the case was too high. :D

The guy is checking the sofa cushions for change at this point, lol

Hah, who knows? $90 million in legal fees does sound like a lot.

Corporate litigation does get very expensive but that does sound a little high given the case was open and shut so fast. I've heard of lawsuits between big corporations getting in the hundreds of millions but that was after years of fighting.

Petty and Vindictive is his middle name.
Yeah, I doubt he has much of a legal leg to stand on... Twitter had every reason to pay highly for a case they knew they could win and then the bill was Musk's problem. Even if this is expensive, if it's what old Twitter agreed to, I don't think Musk has much of a case here. He's probably banking on them meeting him in the middle to not bother with the case.

The lawyers had a short deadline, Musk was dragging out discovery and throwing up obstacles, and the money at stake was in the billions. It may seem high, but it's a tiny fraction of what they secured for Twitter's stockholders. It is not unreasonable even if it is a very high hourly rate.
