Twitter is now reportedly (?) preventing people from adding the URL of their Mastodon profile as a "website" link on their Twitter profile. I've seen some who try, get an error message from Twitter rejecting the link as "malware".

I keep vaguely wondering if all of the "People flee Twitter for Mastodon" is blown out of proportion. But this. This tells me that its actually making a hit and affecting Twitter.

I read somewhere today the reason he did that is he couldn't restrict specific individuals from the twitter spaces feature because a bug let them in and he had fired all the engineers responsible for that part of code so no one knew how to do that. So he shut down the whole thing.

I don't think it's simply Trump -- they want to have free access to Twitter for organisations like the Internet Research Agency in St P, so they can flood the channels with disinformation, rumour and astroturfing, so no one knows what's true any more.
