Well, at least he has a clue about cybersecurity, unlike most of the Old White Men's Club.Young Beto was a member of the well known hacker group "Cult of the dead cow" by the way in the 80s; when he enrolled into university turned 18 he left.

He actually let college get in the way of hacking? Next candidate!Young Beto was a member of the well known hacker group "Cult of the dead cow" by the way in the 80s; when he enrolled into university turned 18 he left.

USE THE MEME!Cult of the Dead Cow. God, I haven't heard that name in a long time.
Ugh.As "PsychedelicWarlord," O'Rourke spent most of his time posting essays that were meant to provoke, song lyrics from punk albums, and the occasional poem.
By the way back then he wrote an article on how a world without money would work: http://textfiles.com/groups/CDC/cDc-0031.txtHe actually let college get in the way of hacking? Next candidate!
Remember, we are the next generation, and will soon rule the world.

I missed out on the whole BBS thing because my high school (in 1972-75 mind you) had a computer lab with a mainframe. Then my college had a computer center and campus network, and Boeing, when I went to work for them, had a computer lab, and eventually I could dial in to the work computers from home. So all my hackish urges were satiated.Cult of the Dead Cow. God, I haven't heard that name in a long time.
I have no problem with the thought of Beto O'Rourke being president of the U.S. in about 20 or 30 years, after he's served in Congress or as a governor.
Meanwhile, I don't find a celebrity president any more appealing than Donald Trump just because he's a Democrat instead of a Republican.
So, he has served in Congress, and as long or longer. Doesn't mean I support him; I've not yet decided and I'm leaning towards Warren or maybe even Sanders, but I feel we should give credit to someone for what they have done.A native of El Paso, Texas, O'Rourke served on the El Paso City Council from 2005 to 2011. O'Rourke was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012 after defeating incumbent Silvestre Reyes in a Democratic primary. Instead of seeking re-election in 2018, he ran for U.S. Senate and was narrowly defeated by Republican incumbent Senator Ted Cruz.
I consider a few years in the House a weak record for jumping straight to the presidency. I wish he'd won the Senate race and served at least a few additional terms as a senator. I get that he's charismatic, and I was wildly enthusiastic about him when he ran against Cruz, but I really resent that he's become the media darling compared to so many highly qualified candidates already in the race. So, he has served in Congress, and as long or longer.
