Very interesting analysis of the picture that's emerging of people arrested after the Jan 6 invasion of the Capitol -- while reporting has concentrated primarily on members of militias and other far-right organisations, the picture of the average MAGA fanatic Trump supporter arrested there is very different from what one might expect.

I think he's probably completely genuine (the judge certainly seems to think he is, perhaps because the local jail say he's refused food for over a week).

As the thread I posted somewhere else makes clear,eco-fascism has a long history. Certainly in the UK it does.

And it would seem it's also already quite a big thing in the US.

Oh heck yeah

This is not to say that the "buy local, buy natural/organic" fad or philosophy or however you want to call it is fundamentally bad or tainted. But if you're on the producer side of the "cottage food industry", as opposed to the consumer side, you should've already known about this connection. Back when I kept bees I knew several definitely conservative beeks who were like militantly into the "organic/natural" stuff.
