Probably cancelling the Northern Ireland protocol and other stuff? Who knows...

By the way BoJo held a speech, and said The 'Deep State' Will Try To Take Britain Back Into EU:

"Some people will say as I leave office that this is the end of Brexit, oh yes, and the leader of the opposition and the deep state will prevail in its plot to haul us back into alignment with the EU as a prelude to our eventual return, and we on this side of the House will prove them wrong, won’t we?”

To all the Brits who told me that Boris Johnson is not Donald Trump:
The big difference between Johnson and Trump is that Johnson doesn't have a MAGA movement supporting him in the country and certainly doesn't command the loyalty/fear among Conservative legislators that Trump does in the USA.

That's why Trump was able to survive two attempts to impeach him, while the Conservatives are busy appointing a new leader.

Brexit does not equal British MAGA? From this side of the pond, it sure looks like it does: an irrational belief in demagogues and all their bullshit to the detriment of one's nation.

That makes it even worse with Johnson using Q/MAGA lines. But I was a bit glib with my quip about Johnson not being Trump. The Brits I direct my mockery were the ones who were of the position "Since Johnson is nothing like Trump, Johnson is fine."

So I would agree that Johnson is very bad at being Trump.

UK does the Brexit and stands as an example to absolutely not do anything like this.

USA, following year: HOLD MY BEER, BITCHES!

Maybe MAGA as 'make american great again' but Johnson doesn't have a violent mob at his disposal and as pointed out, does not have the Torys backing him.

Though I think if the US system was more like the UK system, Trump would have been out. Though, then again, they could have removed him several times, in several different ways, but didn't. Instead they used him to do more evil than even an attempted coup that's ongoing.

Johnson got a motion of confidence. You gotta remember that it's votes that count, not what they say to reporters.

Jeff Flake and Susan Collins said all the right anti-Trump stuff, but voted reliably for the cruelty ticket.

Nevertheless, we will have a new Prime Minister in the UK from the beginning of September and this was not Boris Johnson's idea.

He was forced to go because he could no longer find sufficient people prepared to serve in his government and because the 1922 Committee of backbench Conservative MPs told him that, if he didn't, they'd change the election rules to allow a second vote of no confidence, which he'd certainly have lost.

The parliamentary vote yesterday was a vote of confidence in HM's Government, not Boris Johnson (the government had deliberately tabled their own motion, having refused a Labour one specifying that the house had no confidence in HMG while Boris Johnson was Prime Minister).

By voting against it, the Conservatives voted against an immediate general election (which they'd lose), not in favour of Johnson.
