I saw a video this morning that was allegedly from the shooter, proclaiming he hated all republicans and crooks and that they had the wrong mother fucker. I also recall from a few weeks ago the dried up hags on The View talking about someone should just kill Trump (which would make them sad and unemployed as they can only rant and rage about Trump and no one else could fill that void in their empty withered hearts) but I cannot seem to find it, probably because I am not doing the proper search words.

My take is, the media is partially responsible for this happening. The constant spewing of Trump is Mussolini, Hitler, Pol Pot etc, Madonna crying out she thought often about blowing up the White House, etc was all set to inspire someone to act. I suspect he registered Republican to "gain supeh sekrit access" to events and make him so wanted by all the ladies or some crap.

Given we have plenty of nutjobs in both parties, I'm not really all that surprised.

Then again, he might have been watching too much Alex Jones


Or perhaps he had been doing his own research and, on the basis of the latest revelations about Jeffrey Epstein, concluded that Trump must be a blood-drinking paedophile, too.

If someone on the View had said Trump should be offed, it would have been all over the news. I can’t find anything about it. I don’t watch it, so I could be wrong, but there should be videos of something so incendiary since there’s a lot of hate for that show on “both” sides.

It’s good to not gobble up everything mainstream media without question, but one should also question YouTube videos if it’s the only place you get your “news”. In science, do your research doesn’t mean look up videos on YouTube the algorithm has pushed your way.

If the media is responsible. Then so too is Donald Jailbird Trump:

• "don't be too nice" (to a gathering of law enforcement officers regarding their treatment of suspects in custody, including miming acts of violence with his hands)
• "the blame is on many sides / many sides have fine people" showing sympathy towards white nationalist's violent rhetoric at the Charlotsville VA protests
• "any guy that can do a body slam, he's my type!" -- regarding a republican governor's violent attack on a reporter.
• suggesting "water-filled trench with snakes or alligators and shooting migrants in the legs to slow them down"
• "when the looting starts, the shooting starts" regarding the protests after the murder of George Floyd
• "I will deploy the US Military and quickly solve the problem for them" -- threatening to illegally use are armed forces against U.S. citizens in response to the BLM riots.
• "We could fix Portland in, I would say 45 minutes." -- clearly implying the National Guard would use deadly force in Portland to suppress protesters
• "That's the way it has to be. There has to be retribution" -- regarding the killing of Michael Forest Reinoehl by law enforcement officers.
• telling the far-right 'Proud Boys' to stand back and "Stand By" instead of condemning white supremacist violence at the first presidential debate.
• Lying about election fraud, invited masses of supporters to D.C. on the day election certification was to happen, gathered them near the capitol and then incited into a violent attack on the capital, charging them up with comments like "You'll never take back our country with weakness", "We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore"
• (and so many more that I've lost track)

MAGA culture is inherently based upon the threat of violence in order to silence, suppress, exploit... and defraud women, minorities, 'non-Christians' and LGBTQ+ of their equality in this nation. If you can't see that by now, it'll become a whole lot clearer once they finish destroying our checks and balances on power.

This doesn't really make sense. Pennsylvania is a swing state. Usually when someone registers with the opposite party it's so they can vote in the primary of the party in power in states like mine where one party holds overwhelming power. ...and nobody would think that registering as a Republican makes them wanted by all the ladies. ...a democrat in particular would not think that. I think you're trying to be fair to the other side, and I respect that, but this seems like a big reach.

When I heard about the shooting, I saw just a small photo, and I thought it was Biden. I was like OMG,
then Oh!
then “not seriously hurt”. oh

I doubt he’s won the election. Ford faced two attempts during the 1976 campaign and still lost decisively, and that was with a much less polarised electorate. MAGA Republicans will get crazier. Democrats will remember Trump’s constant calls for violence, his joking about the attack on Paul Pelosi, and his opposition to an automatic rifle ban. Nothing else will change much.

Hmm. Something doesn't add up. The FEC filing says Pittsburgh, PA 15102, however 15102 is the zip code for Bethel Park. Also the street address is in Bethel Park, not Pittsburgh.

I live in a gay neighborhood in a city that's politically divided. I've =SEEN= first hand the kind of intimidating bullshit people aligned with the right pull around here.

They freaking =patrol= my neighborhood in their red-neck white supremacy Macy's Day Wanna Be pickup-trucks, flags sticking out in every direction, cruising up and down the main street. Some with a PA system quoting bible verses, some just blasting the warbliest C&W crap. More than a few times I've had one revving their engine at me while I crossing the street (with the light in a crosswalk) like they were going to run me down. They're out there every damned day.

These vigilantes in my neighborhood may not be representative of all of the whole right, but they're absolutely aligned with, and emboldened by it. I don't know a damned person on the left that swaggers around making a point of being armed and letting people know it. But on the other side? Through old work relationships, I -do- know more than a dozen right-wing types who do just that, and they're not quiet about their religious or political ideology either.

It's fucking chilling. And it's deliberate. It's part of their culture, and they're allowed to get away with it. While us on the left, try to maintain the peace diplomatically, because the only alternative is to arm up, and we know damned well the cops are -not- on our side of the issue and how that will play out.

It's totally imbalanced and getting worse and I'm sick to fucking death of people whinging on and on about 'both sides! Wahh! Both sides! We're so persecuted there's a guy in drag reading books to children at the library! Oh the horror! To Arms! To Arms!"

It's not (a 'both sides' issue). Anyone pushing that narrative is either deliberately mendacious or an ignorant fool.

The gunman had his father’s AR-style rifle and was perched atop a nearby roof when some rallygoers pointed him out to local law enforcement, said two law enforcement officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing criminal probe.

A local law enforcement officer climbed to the roof and found Crooks, who pointed the rifle at the officer. The officer retreated down the ladder, and the gunman quickly fired toward Trump, the officials said. That’s when U.S. Secret Service gunmen shot him, the officials said.
