I'm really scared for that Secret Service agent who had holster issues and the director. I mean you can train your ass off for something, and then everything still goes sideways in the real situation - like your holster just will not cooperate. It could have happened to anyone, but it happened to her, and now half the country is making fun of her, making memes about her, etc.

The director - she's just not doing herself any favors. If it was me when they asked if that roof top should have been secured. I'd have said, "Hindsight is 20/20. This was our thinking when we didn't put agents on that roof top, but again - hindsight is 20/20." Then I'd refuse to address it again.
And when asked about DEI hiriing I'd say that our goal is to recruit the top candidates regardless of race, religion, or sex.

Yeah, they did fuck up by not having the roof covered, but the blame directed at the women is just naked sexism and nothing more. Lots of those manly men present should have thought of that too. It also seems it was a man local law enforcement agent who could have stopped the shooting after confronting the shooter but failed to. ...but sure blame the women present for no reason. According to the anti DEI people, only straight white men are ever allowed to make mistakes.

Straight white men have ran many companies into the ground over the years, but now we get to hear all about every mistake made by someone who wasn't a straight white man (directly or indirectly) over Elon Musk's twitter.

Back in my youth, the so-called "normal times", an assassination attempt would dominate the news, but I'm rather surprised that it just didn't rise to that level for the attack on Trump. And now that Biden has stepped down, it feels like the Trump shooting is old news.

It makes sense, if you think about it. Compare it to when Reagan was shot. In contrast, Trump was barely grazed and back golfing the next day.
