Grandstanding bozos.

Yeah, how dare they! If they were really concerned about Afghanistan, they would have went to Singapore and Vietnam to handle the situation just like the VP is doing.

Also... can the US government please open a complaint line? I got a bunch of complaints, and I need a line for them!
They have several

If an agency has an inspector general, you can also complain to them about problems with that agency. Lastly, your elected representatives usually have "constituent service" staff to handle problems.

Supposedly it was a suicide bomber at a checkpoint going into the Kabul airport. Would have been a lot worse if he would have gotten onto a plane with 400 people on it.

The last Dutch evacuation flight from Afganistan is on its way home now, there are still around 200 people on the list to be evacuated, but things get to risky for now. Hopefully something will be possible in the near future.

Not surprised. The last time they ruled the country the Taliban was only recognized by a handful of Arab countries. They had difficulty getting supplies and arranging travel. They want to be seen as a legitimate government.

U.S. retaliates against ISIS with drone strike in Afghanistan

"U.S. military forces conducted an over-the-horizon counterterrorism operation today against an ISIS-K planner," said Capt. Bill Urban, spokesman for U.S. Central Command, in a statement. "The unmanned airstrike occurred in the Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan. Initial indications are that we killed the target. We know of no civilian casualties."

The ISIS-K, known as Islamic State Khorasan, claimed responsibility for the "martyrdom attack" on Thursday that involved a suicide bomber who detonated an explosive belt at the airport's gate, killing 13 U.S. service members and more than 110 Afghans. More than 100 were wounded in the blasts.

The U.S military is not aware of any civilian casualties in the strike, the officials said.
