A Question On Naming

Something that was said in a previous thread asking for help has made me think a lot about this site. Some people think I should go back to using SLUniverse for the name of this site. I still own the domain. At the time I made VVO, I wanted a change, but other virtual worlds have not really caught on. I am uncertain what to do - I would love your feedback. I rarely use a poll, but I figured some people may not want to reply directly. Thanks for your feedback.

I don't know, but sluniverse is certainly second life oriented since sl is in the name. It seems to me to be a question of how closely associated with sl you wish the site to be which is something for you to decide and not for me to vote on.

From an 'I'm LAZY' perspective... getting here is as easy as typing 'v' into the navigation bar on my browser. If we switch back to SLUniverse.com then it'll be competing with sheets.google.com, satisfactorytools.com, scordle.com, etc.

I still think of this as SLUniverse.com just with a different addresses. Wasn't there some sort of branding limitations issued by LL over 'fan site' trademark/naming infringement that made SLUniverse possibly troublesome (but grandfathered in, I thought).

I dunno, I'm fine either way... it sounds like a lot of work and possible disruption. Is SL really hopping enough for retro-branding to attract more folks over from there? Seems like most of us have kind of moved on from SL to some degree.

I mean, I would -like- to see more SL oriented content, online discussion/questions/scripting stuff tends to get me to log into SL and other games to try stuff out more than anything else these days.

Anyway, I'm happy as is, and happy if the name is switched back. If it works for you, that's good enough for me. =D

I voted yes, if for no other reason than because I think it would help bring back some of the oldbies who have either drifted away or never made the transition to VVOne. Plus, there's a lot of history in the SLUniverse name.

Well Sluniverse.com was a well known brand; VVO is not.

Haven't you always asked yourself: "Science tells since decades that the name Jehovah for god is wrong and it is Jahwe in reality, so why is it still Jehova's witnesses?" Brand recognition, of course.
