Not to be a Debbie Downer, but voting the Orange Mussolini out of office will not get him out of our news feeds. It will get him out of using the US government like a pinata, but he'll be coughing up his special brand of hate sputum until he is finally laid to rest under six feet of heavy loam.
TBH - my worry is martial law declared before November and no elections at all.

Also, our opposition is, in the main supporting the current government. They are trying to get a few things added when it comes to the stimulus of the economy.
But supportive. And they should be.
I hope the American government looks after you. We don't get a lot on the news here about other countries.
Let me know. The little bit we hear is probably not what it's really like.
Japan and Eku come to mind, but also Europe.
Glad Boris and Charlie are okay. :)

And all the channels will carry it like breaking news because enough of us will give our eyeballs to it and sell some ad space.

Happy, happy! Joy, joy!
You are correct, Pres. Trump will not go gently into the good night. After Pres. (W) Bush flushed the global economy down the toilet he quietly sulked away, and the Republican party found a way to disassociate themselves from him by saying he was not a real Republican, and the real problem is that he did not cut taxes to the rich far enough. It also helped that they could blame his misdeeds on a black man who had the audacity to wear a tan suit.

This time, however, Fox "News" is facing a dilemma. The President is already threatening to split their viewership by embracing OANN, and the network has responded by embracing the President even more closely. In for a pfennig in for a pound. It is a high stakes gamble. If Pres. Trump leads the party to a huge loss in the next election the party will have to move away from him. At the same time, Pres. Trump will not simply walk away from the extreme adoration he has been fed by his adoring fans, at least the ones that are still alive. Pres. Trump is very likely to push OANN even harder and Fox News is facing a serious threat to their strangle hold on the Republican base at the same time that the Republican party will be desperate to shed his image.

Tricking people into buying and wearing your hat is pure genius. Once someone has bought in and worn your billboard in public you can literally try to kill them, and they will only cheer harder for you. There is no going back.

Oh, it actually will be easy for the next president to keep whatz-iz-name from sucking up all the oxygen in the room. Make a blanket ban in their administration on answering any question relating to him - just say "that's a very good question" and move on to the next reporter.

It's time for reporters to "move on" from their, and everyone else's, hostage crisis.

According to this Guardian article, though

While you imagine Trump would love to unilaterally crown himself king of the US, he doesn’t have the power to postpone an election, as Clinton noted. Since 1845, federal law has mandated that presidential elections be held on “the Tuesday next after the first Monday in the month of November”. Only Congress can change that – and it would be an arduous process, even before you factor in the House of Representatives being controlled by Democrats. Even if Congress did postpone the election, there would still be an expiry date on Trump’s term. The 20th amendment to the constitution dictates that if an election does not happen, or Trump refuses to step down, his presidency will automatically end on 20 January 2021. The House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, would then become acting president.
Unfortunately, though, that's only half the story, since

Trump does not have the power to cancel the election, but he does have the power to corrupt it. Indeed, there are already signs that the Republican party will do everything it can to ensure a low turnout in November – it is well established that fewer people voting means a higher chance of that party winning. Most Republicans don’t like admitting to their voter-suppression advantage, but Trump, who has a well-documented problem with keeping his mouth shut, recently said the quiet part out loud. Last month, he went on the Fox News programme Fox & Friends to talk about the Democrats’ attempts to push through measures that would make voting easier during the pandemic. “The things [Democrats were proposing] were crazy,” Trump exclaimed. “They had … levels of voting that, if you’d ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again.”

Yes, very. Once pool reporters have Trump-related questions skipped a number of times they WILL stop asking it. Of course, Trump will still suck out all the oxygen from every OTHER discourse, but at least the White House won't have to bother about it. If a pool reporter's question is not answered, it affects his ability to do their job and maintain their livelyhood. Mortgage payments, braces, and college funds will erm, trump ... ah ... whatz-iz-name.

Besides, Trump really has the media held hostage. Given a chance, many will sigh with relief. There is such a strong sense of loathing...

The point of my sarcastic Q is that, Trump will continue pulling oxygen out of the air after he's out of office, and the U.S. press will continue helping him do that. They were helping him do it long before he was in the White House, back when he was merely a "reality TV star." Because that's what they do.

If you don't believe the next White House will have to deal with it, may I remind you of Obama's birth certificate?

I have faith. At least in NPR, WP, NYT, and other "leaders" in the mainstream media. I honestly believe most reporters and editors are plain sick of him and looking for an option out. Obviously partisan and celebrity media will still hang in there, but the news agenda will change.

I think he will put Congress into a position where they have no choice but to do so or cost millions of lives. He's purposefully putting policies in place going forward that will start new curves that won't be as easy to stem with the Feds trying to block states from keeping stay in place orders in effect. His best chance at staying in office is to create chaos and up the death toll exponentially.

If he goes down this road, Mitch McConnell won't act to stop him - we'll end up with another Constitutional Crisis and I think we may well see the end of American democracy.

OR - someone will manage to convince him not to do it. But, all the Constitutional safeguards have been failing one after another with this man so far.

I fear he will call in the military to keep himself in office. Except so far he treats the military with contempt. I don’t know if they mind though.

The U.S. military has a STRONG aversion to being involved in politics, especially in this way. Any officer ordered to do so would almost certainly resign.

Trump would have to use the brown shirts Homeland Security, under the authority of the Justice Department.

Also, depending on how he tries to push it - the Military swears an oath to the Constitution, not to the President, not to Congress, but to protect the Constitution - and with his stunt with that navy vessel?

The only concern I have is that the AF could come in on his/evangelical side, and even then.....

Every single elected official swears an oath to uphold the Constitution and yet here we are. That oath is toilet paper.

Obama's Endorsement:

Well, the comments earlier that morning saying Obama had not endorsed yet certainly aged well.
