Agreed. The whole premise of statements like that is wrong, anyway. Bernie leads among black voters. He trails among old black voters, though. I think Pamela explained why that is really well in this thread.

Just to set the record straight... I got this poll from the fivethirtyeight.com web site. It's from Morning Consult, and dated Feb 23. I know, that's a week and a half ago, which seems like ancient history, but it's the most granular breakdown of what various demographics think that I've seen in recent weeks. If you turn to page 26, the candidate by candidate breakdown starts there. You see that Bernie has a 30% approval rating among african americans, as opposed to Biden's 25%. (side note: If you have more up to date polls with granular data like this, I'd love to see it)

If you look at the demographics in this poll, you see that the demographic that most strongly supports Biden and opposes Bernie is old people. They are the ones who like hearing Biden say, "nothing will change". That's what Bernie is up against. People who like things the way they are.

I am a proud old Democrat then. I was all in for Hillz without hesitation, my first choice was Kamala Harris initially, then Warren, but Bernie does not have my vote in the primary at least. I don't dislike Biden, and he has my vote in the primary. He was not among my top choices, but as the field has narrowed, he is my choice. I don't think a vote for Warren at this point will do much sadly.

Just when you get them registered and educated, a new batch becomes eligible and you start all over. It‘s why “the youth vote” is kind of a mirage. This is how young activists could become a game changer for progressive policies.

Just when you get them registered and educated, a new batch becomes eligible and you start all over. It‘s why “the youth vote” is kind of a mirage. This is very true of whoever runs against Trump. Its going to be a huge climb to win with the foreign bots, Republicans running sham investigations and the orange asshole out there with his garbled one-line insults as the only debate. Its crucial that we turn out everyone to vote those bozos out of the senate and hold the house. They're gutting everything that matters and lining their pockets at every step. I'm not sure that if the dems win, Trump won't declare a national emergency and refuse to allow a peaceful transition - and I'm not sure there's anyone left in the positions that matter to stop him. This is a terrifying year to be an American. I hope that those of us who actually have similar values can stop tearing each other apart and remember who the real enemies are.

I won't bother including the video since she's just a Bernie Bro, but Kim Iversen broke down Biden's big win and concluded he did pretty poorly, not matching HRC's margins in any but a couple of the surprise states. For example, HRC got twice as many delegates as Bernie in Texas in 2016. Biden will split it with Bernie. And California? Even the slam-dunk Biden southern states were more slam-dunk for HRC than they were for Biden.
