Donald Trump told in a CNN interview this week that if he becomes president again he will end the Ukraine war within24 hours.

“I want everybody to stop dying. They’re dying. Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying,” Trump said at CNN’s town hall moderated by “CNN This Morning” anchor Kaitlan Collins. “And I’ll have that done in 24 hours.”

Trump, who would not say whether he wants Ukraine to successfully deter Russia when pressed by Collins, told the audience gathered at Saint Anselm College that he doesn’t “think in terms of winning and losing.”

“I think in terms of getting it settled so we stop killing all these people,” he said.

Trump – asked whether he supports providing US military aid to Ukraine by a Republican voter who will be casting a ballot for the first time in 2024 – would not commit to sending aid to the war-torn country, should he win the Republican presidential nomination and then the White House.

“We’re giving away so much equipment, we don’t have ammunition for ourselves right now,” he said. “We don’t have ammunition for ourselves we’re giving away so much.”

When he doesn't want the killing (which is a really noble thought of course. More people should think that way about wars), why on earth is Trump concerned about the ammunition supply for themselves in that case?

The home town of Ukraine’s Eurovision entry came under fire from Russian missiles during the song contest on Saturday.

Ternopil, the university home town of electronic music duo Tvorchi, was among the places targeted, according to Dame Melinda Simmons, the British ambassador to Ukraine.

Simmons wrote on Twitter: “Meanwhile, this #Eurovision night Ukraine is under another Russian missile attack.”

Putin might have had Lukashenko poisoned to replace him with another puppet, someone who'll agree to Russia's upcoming annexation of Belarus.

ETA: oops, looks like that was the last of my free articles, here's a snippet of the text:

Belarus’s leader Alexander Lukashenko is reportedly in hospital after struggling last week during a visit to Moscow and skipping lunch with Vladimir Putin. Lukashenko, 68, missed a national event on Sunday to celebrate the flag, emblem and anthem of Belarus, during which his prime minister read on his behalf a message of good wishes for his compatriots. Last week, Lukashenko cut short his participation in the Victory Day events held in Moscow during which his host Putin vowed to continue his war in Ukraine. Lukashenko has been a staunch ally of Putin, also offering since last year Belarus as a base for the Russian military to pursue its strikes against Ukraine. Lukashenko was taken to a hospital near Minsk on Saturday evening, according to Euroradio and other independent Belarusian news outlets that did not cite their sources. The news has not been confirmed by the country’s state media.

Remember the recent Discord leaks, where Jack Texeira disclosed hundreds of classified documentgs? Well, those got also some information about Zelensky.

In a meeting in late January, Zelensky suggested Ukraine “conduct strikes in Russia” while moving Ukrainian ground troops into enemy territory to “occupy unspecified Russian border cities,” according to one document labeled “top secret.” The goal would be “to give Kyiv leverage in talks with Moscow,” the document said.

In a separate meeting in late February with Gen. Valery Zaluzhny, Ukraine’s top military commander, Zelensky “expressed concern” that “Ukraine does not have long-range missiles capable of reaching Russian troop deployments in Russia nor anything with which to attack them.” Zelensky then “suggested that Ukraine attack unspecified deployment locations in Rostov,” a region in western Russia, using drones instead, according to another classified document.

In a meeting in mid-February with Deputy Prime Minister Yuliya Svrydenko, Zelensky suggested Ukraine “blow up” the Soviet-built Druzhba pipeline that provides oil to Hungary. “Zelenskyy highlighted that … Ukraine should just blow up the pipeline and destroy likely Hungarian [Prime Minister] Viktor Orban’s industry, which is based heavily on Russian oil,” the document says.

In detailing the conversation, intelligence officials concede that Zelensky was “expressing rage toward Hungary and therefore could be making hyperbolic, meaningless threats,” a qualification that does not accompany the other accounts of Zelensky suggesting bold military action. Though Hungary is nominally part of the Western alliance, Orban is widely considered Europe’s most Kremlin-friendly leader.

[...]

The use of long-range missiles to hit inside Russia is a particularly sensitive topic for the White House, which has long worried that the Ukraine conflict could escalate out of control and force a catastrophic standoff between the United States and Russia, the world’s largest nuclear powers.

Well, it's a bloody war so of course they must be evaluating how to fight it into all kinds of directions.

I read that one of his sons may take over and that he has been grooming them to take over for several years.

"Njet, rifle nix work!"

Probably more surprising than the arrests is the fact that Russia still has a scientific community.

My 2 cents (as a further clueless bystander): As long as a missile comes towards you it's speed isn't essential. The only difference is, that the respond time for the defensive system will be shorter. Every existing defense system like the patriots can take the hypersonic missiles out of the air because their missiles fly towards it, as long as that Russian one is detectable fast enough.
The ultra speed only really has a huge advantage when it manages to pass the defense system, because then catching up will be very difficult because of its speed advantage.

It's the superluminal missiles you really need to worry about, since by the time you see them they're already past you.

Now lets take Sid's statement plus Argent's together, and what's the result of it? The speed of reaction missiles does matter!

After Ukraine shot several Russian hypersonic missiles, Russia has arrested several hypersonic scientists on treason charges.

But not as much as the Russians had hoped for and the superluminal ones are far away from reality at the moment.
Most scientists still think that the speed of light is the fastest speed possible.
Now I'm no scientist, so I have the luxury to think in the future it will turn out that it is not, but it is still music from the future to let something fly superluminal.
