What’s really depressing right now is that I usually counsel others who are affected by these kinds of news cycles that it’s fine to just go dim for a bit if they need to and drop out of social media if that is what their mental health requires. But in the middle of a global pandemic with so many already struggling with depression and isolation, opting out of online socialization just isn’t an option for a lot of people.

There is a major psychological impact from all this sheltering in place. People - human beings not President - NEED human contact. Social media is fine for a while, but at the end of that isolation road lies a lot of depression and suicide. How sad that I have NO faith in this administration to extend much, if any, help for psychological harm from the pandemic?

It's important to still get out, not to "go do stuff/buy things" but just walk around and get some sunlight.

I'm regretting my initial early vote for Bernie considering all the wankery around him. Biden got it anyways, though.

I haven't heard Sanders specifically doing this; but his social-media fanbase universally gave credit for the Democrat-negotiated improvements to the Senate bill to Bernie, and he wasn't even on the negotiating team. That was frustrating.

What's more frustrating is that once the bill left the Senate and was being negotiated in the House, these same individuals like all at once suddenly flipped to calling the entire bill a "betrayal by establishment dems", of course the fault of every Dem except Bernie. A bill that Sanders voted yes on before it left the Senate!

To be fair, the entire country is suffering from depression right now. Its been four years of increasing horror until now its reaching what we think is the zenith, but sense won't be. Its hard for anyone to get that enthusiastic about anything right now.
