I think it wasn't until I hit forums that I started to learn how to internet.SLU/VV1 is a large and lively community, that in internet terms is older than dirt. There would be something deeply wrong going on if there weren't moments that members might find regretful.
What do you have against delicious foods??????!!!!!
Go ahead. I dare you to eat those yoga pants. What do you have against delicious foods??????!!!!!

Well, consider myself and a few others used to be top posters over there. When we found out that people could just report anyone and have it have inworld consequences without even an ll investigation we quickly realized being a top poster there was just making us bigger targets.@NyteWytch directed me to a thread in the Second Life forums about SLU closing, and I have to admit I'm amused to read how terribly mean we all are apparently.
SLUniverse is Closing
I was huh at that one. I am *in* the us and am hardly us-centric.and US-centric
we are sooooo
US-centric
Yeah, whenever I go on other forums I regularly get posts yanked for being off-topic. Usually they are just where the conversation was at the moment but did not strictly go to the OP. That is what I call over-moderation, I like it here, conversations are allowed to evolve. That's how it is on most forums I've ever been on. Also one of the reasons I loved SLU so much. I can't think of any instance where Cris was unfair.
My train of thought pretty much was "oh, people are there now so it would be pointless to continue the conversation on the old site". From the looks of things it seems most people decided that at about the same time.My favorite comment on the LL forum (sorry, not going to go find it) was how re-branded sites fail and VV1 would probably soon fade away.
I dunno, looks pretty lively here to me. It feels like we all started a conga line and danced our way over to the new house without missing a beat. We even picked up a lot of MIA members along the way.
@Cristiano, you catch lightning in a bottle every single time. That's pretty amazing and you should be very proud of what you've created. Once could be a fluke, a matter of just being the first one in the right place at the right time. Three times means you're just that damn good at this.

Yes, I post here more than in all other non-work places combined.I must admit that there is something special about SLU/VV1. Whatever it is, it keeps me coming back for more... kudos to Cristiano!
I suppose it is like any social group, if you have a rep there you get more leeway. Still though, official forums should know to avoid that. What throws me about the SL official forum is the level of rudeness allowed from selected posters. Like, certain people are allowed to show out, and that's all well and good. While other people tip-toe around like a Linden is waiting behind that billboard to write them a ticket for being five over the limit.
EDITED:
OFFICIALLY DEAD. The moron who called us all socialists, or whatever, used a link to Return of Kings (the MRA/anti-woman hate group) website as an attempt at a legitimate argument. Well. Bless his heart.
Ummm, I don't. Did something happen? If so, what?SLU had a couple of moments I'm not all that proud of.
Like, the whole "Mildred" thing. The way people were treated who came to SLU to complain about InWorldz' problems, doesn't look good in the mirror considering what we all know ended up happening to InWorldz.
I think those kinds of moments were very few and far between though.
