I know that people like this guy don't know anything whatsoever about Einstein or what he knew or did or specialized in, they just know of him on a surface pop-culture level as "that one famous smart person", and I don't really blame him for that ignorance. But Musk isn't a genius-level anything. He's just a nepo-baby businessman. He doesn't know anything about engineering or science. His only science degree is a BA. Even his economics degree is just a bachelor's. He has built a reputation by wantonly lying about his expertise, and people like this JPM exec drank the Stupid-flavor kool-aid.
I really loathe Musk for his plagiarism, which is the lowest form of theft. Not only does he steal the credit for the work of his engineers, even the basic ideas about look and design are not his own:

Hyperloop

(Air Wonder Stories 10/1929)

Cybertruck

(Lamborghini Countach from "Automan" (1983))

(Concept art for "Back to the Future" from Ron Cobb)

SpaceX Starship

(Zarkov's rocket from "Flash Gordon")

Also take note of the high "pulp" content. All of these are pretty basic stories created for a certain age demographic. Even "Back to the Future" - while being a brilliant movie with great comedic timing, a perfect script and talented actors - is at its core just an adventure movie for a juvenile audience. This makes me wonder if Musk is capable of comprehending more complex stories with more character development.

Right now he can use his government position to effectively force the government to use X accounts exclusively for announcements. Don't let that convince you that you now HAVE to go back on X even if just to get important government information. Anything you need to know will be forwarded by the news and people who care.
I wouldn't trust anything put out by our current "government" anyway enough to want to hear it.

Have to correct you but hyperloop's origins can be traced back to 1799 !!! back then it had the way cooler name of "Atmospheric Railway" and was intending to also use air pressure differentials to aid in propulsion instead of just wasting tons of energy to just suck the tubes dry of all air for minimal friction (guess what? if your cab-bullet can withstand vacuum - it very likely will also be able to withstand pressure differentials).

Is Tesla's board of directors somehow required to watch their company wither and die while Musk plays Make Believe President?
If history is any indication they will probably give Musk a 50 billion dollar bonus.

The man is obviously into a years-long performance art exhibition representing the positive effects of a misanthropic mindset.

Workers blasted DOGE hatchet man Elon Musk Thursday after he reposted a startling message on X declaring that “Hitler didn’t murder millions of people. Public sector employees did.”

Lee Saunders, union president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees of the AFL-CIO, fired off a furious response saying: “America’s public service workers — our nurses, teachers, firefighters, librarians — chose making our communities safe, healthy and strong over getting rich. They are not, as the world’s richest man implies, genocidal murderers.”
He added: “Elon Musk and the billionaires in this administration have no idea what real people go through every day. That’s why he’s so willing to take a chainsaw to people’s jobs, Medicaid, Social Security and Medicare.”

Yeah I guess "military and police forces" could technically be characterized as "public sector workers", but obviously Elon Musk likes that wording because it implies that he could be saving America from genocide by firing all the weather forecasters.

Well, no, he only owns 12.5% of the stock. I am perplexed that they didn't buy him out, or somehow kick him out, and announce that the rebranding was building from the ground up sans any muskfluence. But they didn't, haven't, won't for no apparent reason.

This is what happened when one party purged the civil service and installed loyalists and fanatics in every position of power without checks. So exactly what he and his assistant President are doing.
