I’m Calling About Your Auto Warranty’: FCC Says No More, Orders Spam Block

The Federal Communications Commission has ordered phone companies to stop carrying traffic related to robocalls about scam auto warranties.

US voice service providers must now “take all necessary steps to avoid carrying this robocall traffic,” or provide a report outlining how they’re mitigating the traffic, the FCC’s Robocall Response Team said in a statement on Thursday. The calls are coming from Roy Cox, Jr., Aaron Michael Jones and related companies and associates.

“Consumers are out of patience and I’m right there with them,” FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said in the statement.

Chinese gifts are often... troubled.

In 2017 the Chinese government wanted to gift a Chinese garden with temples, pavillons and a 70-foot white pagoda at the National Arboretium in Washington DC for around 100 million US$. On paper it looked like a nice gift and potential tourist attraction.

It sounded too good to be true, and it was: US counterintelligence officers looked into it. The pagoda would have been placed at one of the highest spots in Washington, two miles away from the US capitol, so a perfect spot for signal intelligence collection.

What raised even more alarm was the fact that the Chinese wanted to build the pagoda with materials shipped in diplomatic pouches, which are exempt from customs inspections. So officials quietly killed the project before construction began.

lol I love how the cashier just IMMEDIATELY stopped talking to him and called for the manager. When a guy walks up to you with his camera already out and asks an disingenuous question like "what is that flag?", you already know everything you need to know about him. Not just for pride flags but for anything. He's a rando there to cause a problem, not a customer who needs assistance.

And I also love how the manager is immediately not playing the debate-me-bro game and just telling him he's not removing the flag and he needs to leave if it's a problem.
