Farah, who was knighted by the Queen in 2017, was told by lawyers during the making of the programme that he risked having his UK citizenship revoked because “false representations” were made on his application. The Times understands that Farah has not made the Home Office aware of his true back story.

However, the department said his immigration status would be unaffected by the revelations and he would not face any repercussions. “No action whatsoever will be taken against Sir Mo and to suggest otherwise is wrong,” a Home Office spokesman said this evening.

HBO has produced a documentary called "The Anarchists", but it turns out all of the people it profiles are actually anarcho-capitalists, which isn't remotely the same thing. Anarcho-capitalists are hard-line capitalists who believe in deregulating the financial sector; i.e., decriminalizing scams and financial fraud and eliminating consumer protections.

Why? Just why?
A lot of emergency preparedness orgs produce tips for bizarre and unlikely scenarios as a means of raising public awareness and driving views to their sites where people can find more important information; much like how in the 2010's the CDC literally had an advice page for surviving a zombie apocalypse. It's viral marketing, but the product is the rest of their actually useful information.

But a nuclear explosion though - that's kind of a common one. Every emergency org has tips for it. It makes a little sense; obviously if you get killed by a nuclear blast you don't need any advice but if you AREN'T killed, you're going to have to do something at least. You really have no way of knowing whether you've absorbed a harmful or deadly amount of radiation, so it's probably best to assume and act as if you haven't.

I've played enough Fallout to be ready for a nuke.

Pro tip: While it looks like he's saying everything is going to be OK, the actual meaning is that when you hold your thumb up at arms length, if the mushroom cloud is bigger than your thumb you are probably going to die.

I read somewhere the quickest way to die was to be at ground zero of a nuclear blast. You are turned to dust faster than nerve electrons can travel to your brain to tell it.

America was in step (same slope) as other nations until Reagan. He and the Republican establishment have convinced too many Americans that our medical system is best because it costs the most and that any effort by government to control medical costs via socialized medicine would result in reduced levels of care. Clearly, neither of those GOP myths is true.

The other GOP myth is that all those other countries do no medical research and are free riders on the USA's heroic expenditure which is why any of the lines are increasing at all. I once had a boss who trotted that one out every time the subject came up.
