Laugh or cry?
Global Warming: Why the problem is worse – and solutions simpler – than you thought
Solutions, he says, are more politically achievable than most would consider given today's polarized political environment:

  • Improve efficiency, including upping car mileage standards to 60 miles per gallon of gasoline, up from 35 mpg today.
  • Expand clean, safe renewable energy, particularly home rooftop solar.
  • Change personal consumption practices
  • Stop destroying forests
  • Support reproductive freedom.
Laugh.

Even assuming it is not already too late to significantly mitigate U.S. climate change factors (a big assumption, frankly), it's definitely out of reach in the current political structure. It doesn't matter what the Executive branch tries to do if both Congress and the Judiciary block it. Our system of checks and balances ensures a stalemate at best, and a rollback to even worse behavior seems entirely likely.

We lost this battle when Mitch McConnell stacked the Supreme Court. Dems always seem to show up at the fight with brass knuckles while the GOP is armed with Uzis.

Wild how Jill Stein voters turned out to be enemies of multicellular life.

Sorry, but what's happening in your country right now is a conservative counter revolution from the top. So I don't see this coming by a long time.

I was talking about the voters.
Well, its not like she'd be the only right wing environmentalist out there.... and I don't know much other than this is actually a thing - sort of like learning the problematical origin of the New Age movement.... ;.;

But but Green Party candidate. 💩
I'm more and more thinking that the Green Party primarily exists as a spoiler for the GOP in presidential elections - I've never seen them run for anything else.

At least the Libertarians actually run for other offices.
