Phones and automobiles are used, in this household, until they simply won't function any longer.
My main stipulation was "LG with a replaceable battery."

I use em til I break them. Cheapo case and glass shield improves the lifespan.

Sorry, Govi, I'm sure Cisco makes something that will automagically load balance between the Internet that's slow and the Internet that sucks, but it would probably be fifty grand and require 3-phase power. I'm a very technical boy. So I decided to get as crude as possible. These days, though, you have to be pretty technical before you can even aspire to crudeness.

I lived in Portland until I was about 30. I got my driver's license a week before I left. I never bothered own a car because the bus system went everywhere. We had a bus every 7 minutes during peak hours when we lived on Belmont and 33rd. It was every 15 when I lived in St Johns. A car was more expensive than the bus, plus you had to park and worry about it getting broken into. We could take Amtrack to Seattle and they had good busses too.

I lived in Portland for 28 years, moved to be with my dad in NJ. That was when I got my first drivers license at about 60 years old. I'm back in Portland for the time being.

I envy people with a real bus system. Here it takes an hour+ for something that could be driven in 10 minutes. Transfers involve stading around in the sun for 20-30 minutes (all buses except one run every half-hour).

I am in a quest for on ear (not over the ear) headphones that won't break the bank without much luck. I got $40 Soundblaster v2 Jam headphones today. I don't think they sound very good so they are being returned. I ran across these which Amazon is selling for $50 today and have very good reviews. They were between $80 and $100 when they came out and the reviews were written. We shall see.

I'm not in a habit of posting product reviews but these both seem special.
If it really has to be Bluetooth as way of transmission, then look for Skullcandy or Soundcore. Under all costs avoid Beats by Dr. Dre, which are just all about the hype and not about the sound.

If you don't want Bluetooth, just go for some classics like Beyerdynamic DT770, AKG K101, Sennheiser HD 25 or Audio Technica ATH-M50x.

I only just realized how weird it is that Microsoft's AI is Cortana, rather than Clippy. What was wrong with Clippy? It's not like Cortana is any better than Clippy was. They could use the same chat bot engine with Clippy, he looks a lot cooler than the weird spinning circle icon, and Clippy comes with a built-in following. Love him or hate him, he's got name recognition. He's the OG personal assistant.

Also, thinking about Clippy makes me think about Microsoft Bob. They should port Microsoft Bob to VR. Steam and Oculus Link put you in various living room desktop environments, just like Bob did, only Bob had helpful, cute animals running around. I'd take that over Steam and Oculus's sterile living rooms any day.

The key is that most hate him. You can't start fresh with a system-based "assistant" when the baggage takes up a couple of car trunks.

There might be something wrong with you...

Wow, Clippy got so much hate even Microsoft Employees did a campaign against it.

Cortana was popular due the halo series at the time so they chose to ride the coattails.

LOL, Clippy came from Microsoft Bob. The whole Bob OS and Clippy thing was a big, weird, romantic gesture to convince Melinda to marry Bill Gates.
You don't read the things you link to, do you?

Before there was Clippy, there was Microsoft Bob.
Nowhere in that article does it claim Clippy was part of Microsoft Bob. And that's because Clippy was part of the Microsoft Office Assistant. It was called Clippit, and was one of 9 graphical assistants you could choose from.

Fair point. Clippy evolved from Clippit.
