Though it could be argued that since, as Daniel suggested above, at the time they were unable to remove the intruders until reinforcements arrived, it was probably wisest to maintain as cooperative and non-confrontational an atmosphere as possible, while at the same time encouraging suspects to spread incriminating evidence all over social media.

Don't tweet at him, report his tweets for inciting violence. IME, they won't kick him off Twitter for it, because he generates too much traffic, and unfortunately, he is still the president, but it might actually annoy him. I reported him once for inciting violence based on national origin when he tweeted a threat at Iran. Of course, nothing came of it, but he tweeted the next day that it wasn't a threat (it was totally a threat), so maybe he heard about my complaint.

One thing I don't get is yak man. IDK what other people are calling him, but I call him yak man. People say it's a buffalo costume, and that he's somehow a part of the Q Anon conspiracy community. Like a Q Anon pundit or something? I don't know what buffalos or yaks have to do with Q Anon, and I'm kinda scared to ask how Q Anon is connected to fur suiting inbred hillbillies. Maybe we should just be happy that the furries are trying to be more civic minded? LOL

However, once they were through the barriers and inside the building, there doesn't seem to have been a great deal the officers inside the Capitol could have done until reinforcements arrived other than to try to keep things as peaceful as possible.

Someone, I don't remember who, posted video of it here in one of the relevant threads. It was pretty obvious and not at all subject to interpretation. Whoever made that call should be fired, fined, and arrested.

No, I don't. I think it would have turned into a police massacre. But that doesn't mean I think the police should have massacred today's protesters to be even-handed.

Criticisms of the police for being too gentle with the right-wing protesters seem too me to miss the point.

Rather, I'd say this shows they can behave with restraint when they choose, and they should no longer be allowed to push the lie that black people put them in such fear for their lives that they routinely have to shoot them in self-defence.

He's definitely part of QAnon - in fact he's sort of a celebrity within QAnon and has been at every major real-world Q event.

As for the costume - well it's not supposed to be a buffalo or a yak costume. He's actually trying to look like a Hollywoodized version of a Viking.

These are all old symbols associated with the original Nordic mythology. In recent times, they've been appropriated by a new-age neopagan religion called "Asatru", which is sort of a reboot of Norse religion and borrows heavily from its symbolism.

Now, from what I've read, there are places in Europe where the practitioners of this Norse revival religion are for the most part innocuous. However, Asatru is extremely attractive to White Supremacists, who view it as a "true Aryan religion" and the proper white European alternative to Christianity, since Christianity worships a Jew. In the US specifically, Asatru followers are pretty much exclusively White Supremacists.

TL;DR - it's a Neo-Nazi cosplaying a Viking.
