Of course there are. But if you are really poor, and struggle to make it from month to month, to pay the electriticy bill and your rent, to be able to get food, get the healthcare you need, such topics as gender identitity/equality/inclusion etc., which became the pet peeves and main priority of the German left party and in many other Western countries as well, become low priority for yourself really really fast. First many people only care about satisfying their basic needs, if that goal has been met they start more caring about this stuff. So yes, if you are really poor these topics are often viewed as unimportant luxury problems by many of the affected people, because they got more pressing problems they need to solve first and they expect answers from the Left on it.
Or to say it with an idiom by Bertolt Brecht: "Erst kommt das Fressen, dann die Moral."
The left in Germany has abandoned big parts of their former main base, and not only there. This happened because they had an influx of wealthy enough "lifestyle leftists", who care about these topics more than people who have to struggle day by day to make it. People, who also quite often have a deeply running distaste for the real poor the party originally cared about.
The result is that the poorer main base of the former left does mostly feel abandoned, not understood and cared for anymore, homeless and betrayed, because they don't care about gender topics much. They want answers from the Left on the typical Left topics like payable room to live, having a somewhat good paid and secure job, good access to health care and such. So when the Left becomes more interested in lifestyle topics and the original topics it is like McDonald's suddenly selling no meat any longer over night. You can do it, but you do loose a vast amount of your original customers, and that's exactly what has happened in Europe in many countries.
So these political homeless now often go straight from extreme left to extreme right, and that's entirely the Left's fault. First do your homework well enough, then other stuff is no problem. Quite often though the Left cannot understand why their supposed main supporters are voting on the wrong end of the spectrum, some even putting the blame on the voters instead of analyzing their own errors, often convinced that there's nothing wrong with them. Which in the end leads in the long run to their even further demise.
