The result is that the poorer main base of the former left does mostly feel abandoned, not understood and cared for anymore, homeless and betrayed, because they don't care about gender topics much. They want answers from the Left on the typical Left topics like payable room to live, having a somewhat good paid and secure job, good access to health care and such. So when the Left becomes more interested in lifestyle topics and the original topics it is like McDonald's suddenly selling no meat any longer over night. You can do it, but you do loose a vast amount of your original customers, and that's exactly what has happened in Europe in many countries.
You are correct. And this is a dynamic that will bite us all on the ass in the years to come.

Mind you -in the US at least, there's more to it than that. But there are definate, tangible reasons why people vote the way they do.

People need to address that, and ask themselves why Trump was somehow more appealing to Cubans, etc and look closer and closer at the actual reasons that over half of the country thought that a treasonous racist thief is somehow an acceptable voting choice.

But that requires nuance; and this is not the age of nuance.

So -for US at least, a civil war is basically inevitable.

How Claims of Dead Michigan Voters Spread Faster Than the Facts

Austen Fletcher, a former Ivy League football player turned right-wing internet journalist, said in videos posted to Twitter that he had discovered registration documents on a State of Michigan website that showed that four people with reported birth dates from 1900 to 1902 had submitted absentee ballots ahead of Tuesday’s election. “How long has this been going on?” he asked.

By Thursday morning, Mr. Fletcher’s videos were the talk of the Republican internet. “Why is it taking regular Americans to expose this level of obvious corruption?” said Candace Owens, a conservative commentator, sharing one of the videos to her 2.7 million Twitter followers.

Yet a few phone calls by Mr. Fletcher would have revealed evidence that indicates that what appeared to be fraud were run-of-the-mill clerical errors.

I was taking a closer look at MN. I hadn't gotten around to doing that. It looks like Biden took the whole arrowhead, including the Iron Range, which Trump had been strongly courting based upon the idea of opening up our wilderness, in particular the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, to mining. That boldness was what made him think he could take MN, including his chatter that he wouldn't come back if he didn't win when he was visiting Duluth. Biden also took Winona, which I don't think HRC did, as well as Blue Earth County, which has the city of Fairmont. Those are the ones that differ from 2016.

Biden took the usuals of Mpls, St. Paul, Rochester, in addition to those, or a total of 53%/45%.That beats HRC numbers significantly as hers was 46.44%/44.92%.

I guess we DO care about the Boundary Waters more than money. Makes me happy.

ETA: Clarification/fix on who was courting the Iron Range.

Agree, except for the 30% of Latinos who unfathomably handed Texas to Trump.
Yeah, I knew that might be contentioius, but note that I specifically said in the SW, as in Arizona, New Mexico, possibly Nevada.

I realize that Florida and Texas were hard losses, but don't underestimate the fear of the word "socialism" in FL, and in Texas, as well as other states, among *some* latinos there is the idea of locking the door shut behind them. It's not right, but humans do what they do.

Twitter has confirmed that once he leaves office (but not until then, unfortunately) Trump will be subject to the same rules as everyone else:

I am so glad to hear this, and was waiting to see this news. Trump refused to use the official WH Twitter account from the start, of course, because i believe he always wanted to gather his mob around him and take it with him afterwards. He has been privileged to be under the protection of being "the president" so never got banned before now. Thank goodness Twitter will remove that protection.

Right now Trump isn't even thinking that way. He's in denial, and NOBODY on his staff has the gonads to come up to him and tell him it's over.

Our best hope for limiting the potential damage is to keep his attention on the idea that he can overturn his defeat through these meritless legal challenges for as long as possible.
