And as an outsider looking in, it seems to me if Obama steps up to speak about anything from the federal agents to Covid, it is going to backfire, no?

He has no power, and although a moving speaker, he’s not going to change a single mind.
What if Obama, for example, went to Portland, and linked arms with the Wall of Moms? What if the stormtroopers then shot or arrested him?

As far as changing minds, that isn't the issue. The issue is would Obama speaking out motivate more of the people who voted for him in the past to come out and vote this time, vs. the number of deplorables who would otherwise stay home coming out to vote against Biden. If all the deplorables were going to vote anyway, there's no downside. The right answer is something only pollsters and political analysts could give advice on. I'm so far from being a deplorable, I don't understand how their minds work and what motivates them. What I do know is record numbers of people have registered to vote Democrat this time around, and they have come out in record numbers in the primaries.

Who, at least in the short term, do you say will be disadvantaged by Biden's implementing his plans as outlined on his website at

instead of implementing your preferred policy of Medicare for all?

I'm sure there will be some, but since I'm not at all familiar with the US system, please explain to me which specific group(s) are neglected under his scheme.
The "public choice" option is also called "Medicare for All Who Want it". It gives you the choice of having Medicare as your health insurance plan, but having to pay a premium for it. People over 65 also have to pay a premium for Medicare, though it is a fairly small one. Note that Medicare doesn't cover everything. There are various supplemental plans that fill the gaps, with extra premiums. If you can't afford premiums, you are already generally covered by Medicaid, a different program for low income people.

The most chilling thing I have heard is that they are not trying to win the election anymore, they are trying to steal the election now.
Considering EVERY SINGLE POLL right now, that would be they're only option to victory.

We have tens of millions of people who, even with the ACA, don't have insurance. That number was exacerbated with the current crisis, and people losing their jobs. Keeping insurance based on employment is just a horrible idea that needs to die, and it should have been crystal clear in these conditions that merely propping up the ACA is not enough, as it would still leave around 10M people without insurance, by Biden's own admission. By forcing people to use COBRA, they have to pay the portion that their employer used to pay just to keep their insurance, until they can hopefully find a job with insurance benefits. That's a pretty astronomical amount, and extremely difficult to do if you have no savings. The average American can't afford a $400 emergency, yet a newly-unemployed person is supposed to afford COBRA to keep coverage?

I mentioned this to the nephew and he said he doesn’t care about Bernie now, he ran a weak race and didn’t attack Biden enough. I never have any idea what goes through people’s heads.
It's not a cult, and people are more than entitled to be disappointed with the way Bernie ran his campaign. People have varying feelings about it, and that's, you know, normal. People here get pissy at me for bringing up Biden's record, but I dgaf. I do it to make sure people don't go back to sleep, or gaslight themselves into thinking that we're going to get some fantastically progressive leader that cares about us. It doesn't mean I'm going to vote for Trump, but there is a lot of straight ignorance about the way people vote that allows people to be in la-la land about these fallible human beings to whom we're giving power.

I don’t really understand what you hope to accomplish, other than knowing you have made sure a candidate’s full history is known. IOW you need to know everyone is well informed?

So you're not a cult, but we are a cult. Basically, there's no middle ground.
Do you behave that way? Do you call people cultists and yet demand that people shut up about any candidate? If not, then no, you're not in a cult.

We're probably better informed than someone who actually thought Warren is a corporate shill [or was it some other BS accusation?]...

How the world will feel if we flip the US blue is how the country will feel if we flip Texas blue.

Trump visits Midland on Wed. Midland, where HS football is everything. Their school board just voted to change the name of Midland Lee HS To something else.

This is so dumb. I and many people have had criticism of Obama, both Clintons and Biden. But seriously the choice AS OF RIGHT NOW is trump or biden. It isn't lalaland unless you cant stop lala-ing about bernie. People ARE NOT MAD about your concerns about biden but rather what is the option beside him? Do you want more trump then? Cuz this is how you get more trump.
