quite ironic given the right wing extremists could not win without their underprivileged but entitled voting cattle...
But the fascist political myth is always one of a pure, authentic, society, in which people once lived in a natural hierarchy more in tune with what is supposed to be the natural state of affairs, but this society has been corrupted by globalisation, cosmopolitanism, feminism, liberalism and so on, to the extent that it's about to collapse, and a new, more natural, fascist order will arise from the ruins of our current decadence.

It's a different version of the same apocalyptic myth as, in their way, are both the "Left Behind" series of books and the idea of international proletariat throwing off their chains, overthrowing capitalism and creating a new Communist Utopia.

So, for those inclined to fascism, the collapse is now well under way, and Covid-19 will only hasten it -- in their view, the election now matters not so much because they particularly care who wins (though they want Trump, obviously) but more for the opportunities it presents to disrupt and discredit the whole democratic process, and to hasten the end of what they see as an alien, corrupt and unnatural system of government.

I suspect, though, that if their approved people get a firm grip on power, the system will suit them just fine.

The US has blocked a vote on a UN security council resolution calling for a global ceasefire during the Covid-19 pandemic, because the Trump administration objected to an indirect reference to the World Health Organization.
Having successfully broken the US system of federal government, he's now doing what he can -- presumably at the suggestion of his courtiers and sycophants -- to break systems of shared international decision-making, too.

This could have gone in COVID-19 Updates or here -- long-term effects of survival crosses over both categories.

‘COVID-19 Is a Delirium Factory’
I've already dealt with medical delirium once; it is one of many reasons I cringe every time they tell me that I have to have an opiate of any sort post-surgery. Because lying in my own bed doing iv antibiotics and being convinced that I was being held somewhere and being experimented on... never again.

These U.S. cities are best positioned to bounce back from the coronavirus pandemic, according to Moody's

Kamins believed that the twin factors of low population density and educational attainment were going to boost these metro areas.
“A key difference between this recovery and the last recovery is the population density,” he explained. “It's going to have a different effect this time than it did last time.”

During the Global Financial Crisis, “the first place is out of the recession were big densely populated global cities,” he explained. But this time, depending on the duration and the eventual outcome of the COVID-19 outbreak, Kamins believed that “big densely populated cities … are going to be viewed as inherently risky.”
So “some of the places that we're really looking at now would be places that have high degrees of educational attainment but are lower density … [that] have grown very, very well over the last five or six years in particular, are pretty well positioned coming out of this whenever we do,” he said.

That's the reaction my mom had from Percocet. She was convinced she was being held in a "looney bin" and it was just made to look like a hospital. Kept trying to climb out of bed, which would've been disastrous.
The next time she fell, my aunt was with us in the ER, and we scared the hell out of the nurse. "I'm just going to give her some Perco--" "NOOOOO!!"

Why despite my chronic "lost a heavyweight bought" pain, I don't do anything stronger than Codeine.

The “Roaring 20s” was a combination of pent-up post-war consumer spending, loose credit, and bubbles in housing and stocks that were only maintained by deceitful banking practices. For farm and labor, the 1920s were a period of declining economy tipping into depression in rural communities before the market crash. So yes, I can see that happening again.

The comments section for that article..oy vey. Many of them saying that dems want deaths so that Trump doesn't get elected, that only Trump can bring us economic recovery, yada yada.

Sample:

Ummm...they do know where that went, right?
They are going to do their usual twisting of whatever happens and what he does this year. When there are a lot of deaths in a state they will say the dead people would have voted for donnie (no matter the evidence to the contrary) and insist he get those votes. Stuff like that.

Seeing as Dear Leader had said that the Chinese killed thousands (millions?) of their own prior requesting this virus just to make him look bad, I can see where they get their "reasoning".

A visual illustration of MAGAt reasoning:

Aside from his ridiculous ordnance, he's wearing his mask on his shoulder.

ETA: Looked in again, Subway is trending now. Seems there was a whole circus in town:

Look at them posting for the camera, too. That top right picture where they're all standing around thinks they look heroic? 🤣
And how is the dude sitting down planning on eating his sub like that?
