I've had some pretty ferocious debates with other Dems on social media, who dislike Biden and claim he'd just be "more of the same as Trump". :censored:

I keep making the same point over and over: NOTHING and NOBODY can ever be "another Trump". He is the most corrupt, clueless, un-empathetic President in our history. My fondest dream is for the Republicans to collect the karma they're due this November. And the new administration hopefully will set about undoing all the bullshit Trump did, just like he tried to undo Obama. Fair's fair. The problem is that McConnell has stacked the Federal court system which will back things up for decades, now..

After '16, I've learned not to put much stock into polls but I'm encouraged by what I'm seeing so far. Trump is NOT a shoo-in for reelection. Thank the spirts. And I'm reading that he is in a sour mood, which make me grin like the proverbial cat.

RealClearPolitics - Election 2020 - General Election: Trump vs. Biden
I have a Bernie Bro nephew who will not vote for Biden because he is allegedly as bad as Trump. I don’t bother discussing it with him, there is no way to argue with such idiocy. And he is a history major, so no excuse.

I am reading Tweets from people saying that if we win back the senate and WH, the justice being now delayed will be then pursued. And I wonder if those incompetent Trump judges can’t be impeached when they inevitably fuck up.

I caught part of Gov. Cuomo's press conference today. Someone asked him if he thought He York should cancel its Democratic primary, and he wouldn't be baited into answering, at least not the way they wanted him to. He said it was up to the Democratic party and not him. When pressed for his opinion, he said he doesn't have them. I believe the quote was, "you know me, I'm a cool dude with a chill mood."

Well, they've gone and done it.

Prediction: Biden will not be the nominee. Cuomo will.

That part about integrity is a hoot. The man who had to withdraw from one of his campaigns because of plagiarism, who has lied about just about everything including most recently being arrested when going to see Mandela?
I knew about the plagiarism, but it's amazing how I've just ignored it until you brought it up again. Bernie Sanders has endorsed Biden, as AOC has. If Biden can't complete his mission of beating Trump, what credibility will be left in the Democratic party? Sanders is now standing with Larry Summers and Sanders has signed off on an unimaginable wealth transfer to the top.

I can't process Biden right now. I'm still trying to process Sanders.

PLEASE, NO!
New York needs him where he is, and he has
too much genuine affection for the state to leave us in the lurch.
Plus, he's said he won't run, and he's not a weasel like some elected officials.

And Jesse Ventura? I liked "the governing Body", but if he pulls a Jill Stein and helps land us with another four years of Dump, he can sit and spin.
Also, since I'll be dead, I’ll come back and haunt him.

Former Governor Jesse Ventura mulling Presidential run

It's, at least, interesting. Right now, there is so many people who feel they have no choice or an impossible choice. Keeping voters engaged at least gives some hope there will be people making a choice in November, when it counts. This is a wild card. It could even the odds in either direction.
We do need a candidate who actually gets off his ass and campaigns, whatever party they may be from. The only activity I've seen from Biden since Bernie endorsed him is when he had Google delete an episode of the Larry King show from their archives, to hide when Tara Reede's mother called in. Bernie is still doing virtual town halls regularly, even through he's not a candidate. Trump is on TV almost every single day, giving any prospective challenger all kinds of openings to campaign against him, but Biden is just kinda sitting around, doing nothing to provide leadership. HIs corona plan is almost identical to Trump's. No wonder Obama waited as long as he possibly could to endorse him, because he would have rather endorsed anybody else. Bernie endorsed Biden before Obama did. I just can't see Biden as a legitimate candidate until he starts campaigning.

That was only Obama pretending he was uninvolved. The truth is he pressured Klobuchar and Buttigieg to step out. The latter probably involved a favor. He said he'd interfere if it looked like Bernie would win, and he did interfere. I'm sure he did want someone other than Biden, it's even been rumored that he urged Biden not to run. But when it came down to Bernie or Biden, he was all in for Biden.

The Democrats have left a void in true opposition to Trump right now. In many cases, like Pelosi, they are veering to his right on how to deal with this economic crisis that's hit us. COBRA? The name couldn't be more appropriate. Make sure that people who have nothing left get copays and deductibles as a bonus. Biden has no voice. I just don't feel like pretending he does. It's asking too much to pretend right now, when reality hits me within seconds of waking up and walks beside me in everything thing I do. The answers to our problems aren't a mystery. They are right in front of our face.

If you can't fight now, if you don't try to rescue people now, what good could you possibly be?

Since March 23rd, not one penny of income. No stimulus check. No bailout money for my small business. I was up until 2am filling out an application for the new PPP that began today at 7:30 PST. Under the new rules, I still don't qualify as it turns out. Friday and Saturday was spent filling out the expanded Cares application for unemployment. That took two 70 mile round trips to gather information, scan over 200 pages of documentation including bank statements P&L Comparisons, Complete insurance policies, Articles of Incorporation, Corporate & Personal Tax filings, business license, social security, and 14 hours of crashing and reapplying on the website just to complete it. I have no idea if i"m approved, but I'm required to proceed as approved. Today, they changed the rules, and I need to sign back on my Beacon to update. This was at 1pm when I began today. It's now 3:40 and I still have 160,000+ people ahead of me before I'm granted site access. I had 180,000+ when I started. If you don't sit by the counter, you lose your place in line and start over.

When are the Democrats in all of this Hell? Eating Dove Bars from their $24000.00 freezer and blaming Trump and endorsing someone who doesn't really have a mind. I'll never forget this time of my life if I survive it. There will be a reckoning.

Fun story, but it's far more likely that Obama feels the bern, so he only endorsed Biden because Bernie did it. Obama is totally a Bernie bro!

No, he's not. Very much not. But he's way better at diplomacy than anyone in the Biden or Clinton camps.

I think by November, the country will come together behind this guy's ideas. I'm not saying they will get behind this specific person, just the ideas he's expressing. He's a stand up comedian, not a political leader. His ideas aren't unique, but they are bipartisan. Everybody of every political background I know of loves this video. This is what I predict the angry mob will demand when the pitch forks come out.

A reckoning? From whom? Maybe you aren't in touch with the Democratic Party, but I am. And they're doing plenty in preparation for the election. In case you forgot, they haven't even had a convention yet (it may end up being a video conference) to officially select Biden. Right now it's fund raising and more fund raising, and paying special attention to the many down ballot races that are necessary for a Biden Presidency to actually accomplish anything.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is a Presidential campaign.
