When the Epstein Files are released...

What will you do when the Epstein Files are finally released?

  • I'm gonna party like it's 3998 (1999 x 2)

  • Nothing (because it''ll NEVER happen)

  • Prepare for the mega-rioting to come

  • Take that long overdue stress nap

  • "I will diminish, and go into the West and remain Galadriel."

  • Consume way too much pie and whiskey

The REDACT Act would amend the Epstein Files Transparency Act to allow survivors to hold the DOJ accountable for these privacy violations and seek compensation for harm resulting from the unlawful disclosure of their personal information.

“The Epstein Survivors have fought for years to get justice and reveal the powerful predators in Jeffrey Epstein’s orbit. Their fight for justice was met by an incredibly incompetent DOJ that released their private information, while protecting abusers. Because of this, they have faced serious retraumatization and harassment. Our legislation will get the survivors the accountability they deserve from a DOJ that has failed them, ” said Jayapal.

This video reports on the breaking news regarding the death of Daniel Siad, a longtime modeling scout who was under investigation for his role as a recruiter and facilitator for the sex trafficking ring operated by Jeffrey Epstein, Jean-Luc Brunel, and Gérald Marie (0:00 - 0:47).

Key Details of the Incident and Investigation:

  • Death in Paris: Siad (69) was discovered dead in his kitchen by his roommate on Monday. French authorities have launched an investigation into his death, which includes an autopsy (0:22 - 1:04).
  • Deep Ties to Epstein: Siad's name appears in over 1,000 documents within the Epstein files released by the U.S. DOJ. He was known as a "loyal correspondent" who coordinated with Epstein for nearly a decade, receiving wire payments and scouting young women and girls in Eastern Europe and Sweden (1:05 - 1:33, 4:03 - 4:47).
  • Allegations of Trafficking: Several women have come forward with claims against Siad. Notably, Eba Carlson (interviewed by French police in early 2026) and a woman referred to as "Malikica" have alleged that Siad recruited them for Epstein and facilitated sexual assault (3:15 - 3:35, 9:09 - 10:25).
  • Judicial Complications: Siad was under a criminal investigation, yet French authorities had reportedly not yet interviewed him prior to his death. This death is described by the host as a major blow to ongoing efforts to link various perpetrators through an investigating judge, especially given the recent filing of six new complaints against Gérald Marie (2:49 - 3:06, 12:27 - 12:44, 14:06 - 14:12).
Broader Context:

  • The host emphasizes that Siad is the latest figure associated with this network to die under suspicious or finalized circumstances, following the deaths of Jeffrey Epstein and Jean-Luc Brunel in prison (14:29 - 14:42).
  • The segment also highlights the ongoing frustration with the U.S. Department of Justice regarding the production of redacted documents, which the host argues are essential to understanding the international scope of the trafficking network (12:56 - 13:28, 17:37 - 18:14).

Yup, he's going there.

Every Senate Republican went on record against a presidential pardon for convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, breaking with President Donald Trump, who has refused to rule one out.

If he's going to pardon her, I would imagine that the plan is, and always has been, to do it on the day he leaves office, just as previous presidents have done with their most contentious pardons.

She's no fool and, if this is the plan, she's well able to understand that a less restrictive regime during her incarceration, combined with a pardon at the end of Trump's term of office, is as good a deal as she's going to get.

Trump DOJ Hands Judge Unredacted Epstein Records After Katie Phang’s Court Win
The Justice Department confirmed Thursday that it has turned over unredacted Epstein-related records directly to a federal judge for private review, marking the latest development in a lawsuit brought by attorney and MeidasTouch host Katie Phang challenging the government’s handling of the files.
In a new filing submitted July 30, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s Justice Department notified U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan that it had complied with his July 25 order requiring the government to produce documents supporting a series of contested redactions.

According to the filing, DOJ delivered hard copies of the documents by hand to Judge Sullivan’s chambers at 2:28 p.m. Thursday.

The records are being reviewed in camera, meaning privately by the judge rather than being placed on the public docket. The step allows Sullivan himself to examine what the government has concealed and determine whether DOJ’s explanations for the redactions hold up.

With our recent news clouding my thoughts, I'd forgot to post about this.

Massie names Epstein ‘coconspirators,’ discusses new Epstein files legislation
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who has been a key figure in the push to release files linked to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in the last few years, read off more than a dozen names of what he said were “Epstein coconspirators” on Monday.

“On the House floor tonight, I read the names of several Epstein coconspirators who should be investigated and prosecuted,” Massie said in a Monday night post on the social platform X.

“I also began collecting 218 signatures for the discharge petition to force a vote on Epstein Files Transparency Act II,” he added.
Massie’s post included a clip of himself on the House floor, where he said it had “been a year since the president signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act,” referencing legislation he spearheaded alongside Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) last year that resulted in the release of some files linked to Epstein.

“And the government continues to withhold over three million files. That’s why we’ve introduced the Epstein Files Transparency Act II, to bring the fight to the state courts, accountability to the Department of Justice and closure for survivors. We want perpetrators of these crimes to be investigated and prosecuted,” he added.
'Bout time one of the MAGA dropouts grew some balls.

This could have fitted in several threads

But what you will never find, across decades of interviews and mountains of correspondence, is a single instance of Noam Chomsky admitting he was ever wrong about anything at all.
I had a good laugh at this part in particular. It's a long, verbose article and I'm still digesting bits of it but it is very interesting. I of course have known of Chomsky for many years, but this is the biggest deep dive I've ever read into his political thought process and reasonings.

One thing I've said many times before is that many dumb people can never explain WHY they have a strong opinion. Their opinions just are, and if you were as s-m-r-t as they are, you'd have the same opinion!!! These people think laughing emoji''s and insults are the perfect counter argument!

But this certainly doesn't mean that verbose reasoning is correct. Chomsky is a true genius, but also kind of nuts. When you combine those traits, OH BOY, you get the most convoluted, walls of bullshit. Trying to untangle the web of rationalizations from someone like that is quite a chore.

One false dichotomy that can be very tempting to make is that either people are dumb, or they will be right. Many people with wacky beliefs have very complex and sophisticated rationalizations for them. But buried in the nonsense is a very particular bad assumption they won't let go of, or a very particular cognitive failure they seem to lack the ability to see through.

In Chomsky's case, I think his views seem to be a lot less motivated by compassion, and a lot more so by contrarianism, as the article states. This is how he can flip between expression such compassion for people killed by one government and then kind of shrugging about Epstein victims and often even the victims of specific genocides.

I've been wondering.

Do you recall that subset of the MAGA crowd who were rip-roaring to have the Epstein files released, unredacted except to protect the (true) victims? More than a few of them would make regular appearances, sometimes in the news, sometimes on a podcast, early to mid-2025, proclaiming their demands, again and again. JUSTICE for the victims. TRANSPARENCY!

But then, once it became ever more clear the Epstein files could be (somewhat seriously) called the Epstein-Trump files, they seemed to have drifted away, one by one, to some undisclosed location.

Funny, that.
