What popular food have you never tried?

I’ve never eaten chicken wings. I don’t mean when they’re part of a whole chicken, but like in a big bowl served with dip. And I think they’re supposed to be spicy? Anyhow, I’m not intrigued enough to make some or buy them in a box, but if I ever happen to be at a party one day and they’re served, why not.

Chicken wings are a pretty basic thing in America but I know you're French, so maybe it's not that weird you've not had them, lol.

I am an extremely adventurous eater. My parents did a good job of raising me to eat whatever I could and not complain, so now I'm a much more adventurous eater than they are. I honestly can't think of anything that is common in the USA that I've not at least tried. I have of course read about dishes in exotic countries that I've not tried since it's just not available to me. I've never had fried crickets for example but I don't know of any place that serves them around me (they are popular in some parts of the world!).

I'm not sure I can think of a "popular" food I haven't tried. There are certainly some things I've only eaten once or twice.

When they're made to be spicy. Buffalo-style wings vary in spiciness. When I pick some up, I usually go with honey wings.

I love beer, but it's not that unusual for someone to hate them all. If someone hates any trace of hops or malt they probably won't like any real beer.

They are not always spicy and can come in a variety of flavors. Generally they are saucy though. It's not uncommon to just have a roll of paper towels available when eating them.

The only thing I can think of is that I have never had like, Lobster or crab. Or Oysters, or much of any seafood that isn't just fish of some kind.

Same here. I recognized I was OCD at an early age and vowed to never get involved in anything that could ruin my life, since I have a habit of going deep.

Also, in my 20's I answered phones for two cab companies. I can never hear the word "drunk" without mentally putting "g*d-d*mned" in front of it.

I'm a bit picky about beer. I'm fine with most imports/micro-brews like Pilsners, Rots(reds), heffeweisen(unfilterd/wheat beers), dunkles/nut browns, guiness/swartz ... but hand me one of far too damned many "India Pale Ales" (IPAs) or domestic piss and I won't finish it. Bleah. Hate'm.

I'm struggling to think of something 'popular' I haven't tried... Chorizo (I'm allergic to pork) and Poutine (I live way too far from Canada) are probably it. I hung out with an adventurous 'foodie' crowd for a few years and we hunted down as many different kinds of things to try as we could. I think I've tried Pho once, but westernized Korean food makes me very nervous, they kinda use pork like a condiment.

Pho is Vietnamese though it's a popular dish in South Korea and Thailand.

Pho Bo is with beef, Pho Ga is chicken, and Pho Hai San (or Pho Do Bien) is seafood - usually some combo of shrimp, clams, crab meat, white fish or fish cakes/balls, and if you're lucky: squid! (there's also Pho Tom - just shrimp). Pho chay is vegetarian - though some places do it up straight vegan.

Pho with pork, Pho Thit, I don't think is a common dish on the Vietnamese side. Actually, I don't recall coming across pho with pork very often in the various Vietnamese/Korean/Thai/'asian-fusion" restaurants I've hit up around New England. I know we Americans prefer pork in our fried rice...

More likely to get pork in ramen (the real stuff, not Top Ramen). Pho can be very good. If you need chicken soup and can't cook, order pho.

From what I remember of my teens and early 20s in Texas, there was Budweiser and Lone Star beer. I had bad associations with the smell, bringing back memories of my father's empties (of which there were many).

I was immune to peer pressure, so there was no motivation to keep trying it anyway. Also, I was part of the nerdy science-fiction community in college and beer drinking just wasn't our thing. Instead, I got wasted on Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill wine (and I use the term "wine" very loosely).
