Logging in to keep up with my virtual friends, community, and shopping.

I'm a reforming shopping addict, that Konmari'd everything and now lives a minimalist lifestyle in RL.

The ability to go online, and just "blow it out the water", helps with my urges to spend. My sims are basically ways to display my style and great finds. Like someone else mentioned, I often get a similar feeling or "high" from buying a nice outfit in SL, as I do in RL. This way shopping and browsing can remain a fun, creative hobby, without sacrificing my wallet or financial health.

SL creators, really do keep up with RL fashion and home design trends, and I've developed a more discerning eye from shopping in the virtual world.
I'm doing KonMari too, though it's a slow slog for me so far in some ways. Being in SL helps so much because the areas of RL that I'm going actual textbook minimalist in really dovetail with the ways I'm kind of extravagant in SL, for much less $$ or space requirements. So it benefits both lives. I don't think my whole RL will ever be minimalist but SL has certainly helped some areas to become delightfully so.

Frends, a handful of hangouts and the more or less easier ability to just be *me* (when not using my RP Character).

It was thanks to Second Life that I was able to make a few important self discoveries.

I come back less and less. I've a lot of memories in SL, and it helped me cope with what I see now was a very toxic relationship, intentionally or not. But I do still go back and still pay for land and my premium on my oldbie.....

But I just don't do anything when I'm on anymore.

Disenchantment with the other online activities (i.e. games) that had dragged me away.

… And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death…
The grind got old.

in the morning I'm a guy at a farm miking cows and exporting milk to fill quotas , in the afternoon i'm a female shopping for the latest look and fashions for my flickr and photoshop practice... in the evening i hang out with furry friends in a fox pushie avie watching them make amazing builds ( or amazing mistakes) somerimes attempting and trying to make my own scripted toys, at night i roleplay a vampire lookin for blood in the night... or being an obedient droid in a cyberpunk fantasy...

I Can jump in and out with a few clicks and tp.... I don't have to be stuck to one class or gender or one job... i can try things out and if i don't like it.. click!.. no consequences or additional fees....

the ultimate experimental sandbox that i think people are underutilizing... theres so much to do.... i made a post on the old forums about the things you can do but can't seem to find it...

that being said i've become a shopping addict and i don't wanna know how much i've spent on sl..
