Sometimes, conscience dictates how long we can tolerate the stench.
Oh, I agree. But, by leaving Barr will ensure that he uses a yes man, and this will drag on even longer and encourage all of the people out there who have fallen under the insane spell that this election was stolen from Trump. I wouldn't put it pass him and/or whomever he has take this man's place to manufacture "evidence".

So, to me, resigning in protest seems to be counterproductive and largely symbolic or a pyrrhic victory.

The Trump administration has instructed senior government officials against cooperating with President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team, a move that is prompting the Biden team to consider legal action, the Washington Post reported late Monday.

“We have been told: Ignore the media, wait for it to be official from the government,” a senior administration official told the Post.
Translation: Wait until Trump finishes his tantrums and gives in.

Biden and Harris must have anticipated something like this, though, so it should be no more than an inconvenience.
Still, they'll be limited in a lot of ways. For example, on the money side they can't use any funds from their campaign, and say pay it back later. Though I guess they could set up a Patreon fund for the transition costs...

I'm sure both George Soros and the Clinton Foundation would be happy to help, thus causing some heads to explode.

Jeff Bezos, Mike Bloomberg, Mitt Romney...

(that last one would ~really~ cause a major meltdown)

I really wish they wouldn't do that. Stay there and do the job. Haven't we learned that anytime this happens they get replaced by some grifter and/or nutjob?
If they stay, they are complicit in the actions that follow. You don't fight this administration if you stay and follow their orders.

There is that, but as this is the Election Crimes Prosecutor, I was thinking he could perhaps refuse such orders, in particular if they are based upon falsehoods, standing firm and citing truth and law.

Since he (was) in the Public Integrity Section of the DOJ, maybe he thinks it might look a little better on the resume to have quit over a directive he feels is not up to the department's ethical standards or what have you, rather than later being fired for not following orders based on that directive. Hairsplitting, perhaps.

Yes, I have been seeing some really chilling numbers such as 33% of mail in ballots in Philly were not delivered,, similarly high numbers in Detroit, Atlanta, and other cities. I haven't seen full confirmation of those yet, and I'm hoping we will get to the bottom of it.

If those numbers hold, it most definitely appears that they DID indeed try to steal this election using the Post Office, but failed, despite it all.

I've been tempted to call Trump's Fraud Hotline and cite the Post Office fuckery, over and over.

Trump’s Legal Blitz Isn’t Contesting Enough Votes to Win
President Donald Trump’s hopes of reversing the outcome of the 2020 election in the courts are running into the reality that the numbers just aren’t there in terms of votes he can dispute -- at least not yet.

In their most advanced legal challenge, the Trump campaign and the Republican Party are trying to have the U.S. Supreme Court toss Pennsylvania ballots that arrived after Nov. 3. But, with all but four of 67 counties reporting, state officials have only logged 7,800 such ballots, said Jacklin Rhoads, spokeswoman for Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro.

Biden’s lead in Pennsylvania stood at more than 45,000 votes Monday afternoon, not including the late-arriving ballots at issue.
