Or the rest of the EU. Or Australia, New Zealand and South Africa ... .
NONSENSE!!!! BEST WINES ARE MADE IN AMERICA! 'MERICA!!!! But as a more serious answer, good wines come from many places and often aren't even the most expensive ones.

I also might have to learn which American made Single malts are good if the Scottish ones get too expensive...

Well of course. His 77M voters are all responsible too.
I know several of those 77M jerks voted for him just because of the "price of eggs". I would read this shit on the "Next Door" forum and just slap my forehead. Welp, I hope they like the price of eggs now. Honestly, it's difficult to speak to anyone that I know who voted for him.

“But what can I do?”
“I didn’t vote for him…”
What can people do, though? One of my best friends lives in Ohio. She was horrified at the idea of Trump being re-elected, contributed to Kamala Harris' campaign and also to those of local Democrats, even though the result in her part of the world was never in much doubt, and voted the solid Democratic ticket in November.

Being neither a billionaire nor a senior member of Russian Intelligence, she can do no more about Trump and Vance than can I, or can anyone in Canada, Ukraine, Greenland, Panama, Mexico or some African country Trump's never heard of.

I think ALL Americans do owe other countries the understanding of why we're being boycotted. No matter who we voted for, it's unfair for us to victim blame. With that said, I certainly don't believe EVERYONE is guilty of what their government does as if every country was some hivemind (dirty word, I know!). I never blamed regular citizens in Russia for Putin's decision to invade Ukraine for example. But I also would expect regular Russian citizens to know their country is in the wrong. That's exactly how I feel about my own country. The USA is in the wrong here.

People aren't boycotting America because they don't like Americans. It's because they don't like what the American government is doing to their countries.

It's a huge shock for many of us to see a country that for the last 80-odd years we've viewed as a close ally, for all its faults, cease in a matter of weeks to be an ally or even a dependable partner, and pivot into a more and more hostile alliance with Russia.

I don't know what it is -- maybe Russia has kompromat on Trump and Musk. Maybe they've been bribed. Maybe it's just that they don't like liberal democracies and prefer autocratic kleptocracies. Maybe all three. But one way or another, they've changed everything beyond all recognition, and that's bound to have consequences.

I like what B.C. is with their alcohol tariffs, targeting red states. Sadly, that is probably easily abusable. It really has to be against the whole country. I'm just glad I can coast on savings to collect social security.

what was ominous in 2016 is dangerous in 2025, especially in Europe. Russian military aggression is more damaging, Russian sabotage across Europe more frequent, and Russian cyberattacks almost constant. In truth, it is Putin, not Zelensky, who started this conflict, Putin who has brought North Korean troops and Iranian drones to Europe, Putin who instructs his propagandists to talk about nuking London, Putin who keeps raising the stakes and scope of the war. Most Europeans live in this reality, not in the fictional world inhabited by Trump, and the contrast is making them think differently about Americans. According to pollsters, nearly three-quarters of French people now think that the U.S. is not an ally of France. A majority in Britain and a very large majority in Denmark, both historically pro-American countries, now have unfavorable views of the U.S. as well.

The United States -- as a country -- cannot be trusted. I fully support any anti-American actions by the free world, most especially Canada and Mexico, to mark their displeasure at its actions.

It doesn't matter that I personally don't support the government. I'm still enmeshed in fabric of the U.S. and I would not ask for leniency to the Trump Administration on my behalf. That's not the way the world works. Ask a citizen of Dresden or Nagasaki how much influence their personal beliefs had on their fate; we showed them no mercy, none, and to expect any for us is the height of hubris.

The U.S. isn't just randomly temporarily deranged, it's deeply corrupt. A major party in our system has turned its back on the ideals of the founders and is happily gorging at the corporate trough, with a heaping side order of Russin graft, consequences be damned. Until we've had a purge as deep and sincere as Germany has purged the Nazis, we are not the good guys.

Yeah..... Through it's history, we've ranged from overtly evil to "We'll smile and shake hands while our corporations fuck you over best they can!"

....but we spent less than 1% of the federal budget on foreign aid for a bit!!!! This was enough to make some millions of Americans think we were being taken advantage of!!

The purge you guys did? Was not very effective. Most people just stopped behaving like Nazis because they were afraid to be ostracized. Eventually a new generation emerged that had less Nazis. But we never really got rid of them and unfortunately they are really good at instrumentalizing fear.

I thought about this.... the recent rise in Alternative for Germany and far right rhetoric showed this wasn't complete. There is a deeper problem with humanity and how we respond to fear mongering. I don't have a good solution.
