As I understand it, they don't even have any reason to hear an appeal - the previous court made a decision to not even hear the case, so there was no ruling to appeal.

According to multiple lawyers I follow, that isn't how it works, though. Like, there has to be a ruling to appeal and there isn't one, but they did anyway.

It is possible that the ruling has not been registered in the docket, but in a case where there is a notice of appeal and not granting the stay would lead to an irreversible act, the appeals court can grant a stay.

Speaking on former Trump adviser Steve Bannon's "War Room" podcast, Greene accused unnamed businesses of "corporate communism." She suggested that she and her Republican colleagues should probe such companies for their conduct.

"You know what they did after January 6, Steve? They stopped donating. All the lobbyists, all the big corporations stopped donating to a whole bunch of my Republican colleagues that they used to donate to," Greene said.

Apparently she's never heard of the term racketeering.
