There's a reason why nobody has built new battleships in decades, because they are obsolete. Maybe the Navy will make it look a multi purpose ship class, which on surface might look like one but can also carry out destroyer tasks, so they are just destroyers in disguise? I wonder...

Option 1 is they build the world's largest frigate and FINALLY cram their wishlist into it. Option 2 is they stall for time and buy off-the-shelf frigates, extend the hulls, and fit shipping crates with 1 or 2 wishlist items, and convince Admiral I-want- it -akl to shut the f### up.
