So many things wrong with Trump's actions, the republicans who aren't saying a word, the democrats who are barely saying a word, the ceos of the largest companies in bed with Trump. On and on. Just to pick one alarming statistic, the average state receives 36% of their funding from federal aid programs. He has just cut off all of their aid. Something drastic will happen in a matter of days. I don't know what but it won't be good.

I have not felt great in so long that I am pretty sure I have forgotten what great feels like.

The state college that employs me derives around seventy percent (70%) of its appropriation from federal aid programs. We may be in some deep doo doo here. I wonder if the Pubes may finally legislate a state lottery to benefit educational funding?

The irony is that the red states -- that overwhelmingly supported Trump -- are the most dependent on Federal aid. This is going to hurt MAGAs really badly, along with the higher prices for food and goods. Massive unemployment, too, as Federal jobs are axed right and left.

May they get everything they voted for. I just regret having to be along for the ride.

I must confess I wasn't expecting "Trump defunds the police"

Thinking now of something Bruce Cockburn said in a writing about his trip to Madagascar: "They issue the police weapons but no paycheques with predictable results."

Grumpy Khamon says "good." They will hopefully scare the pants off of enough of their own base in early days to be forced into lawful activity by the pitchforks. It's our first best hope.
The shock-and-awe tactic does have some advantages in creating paralyzing chaos, but it also risks overplaying their hand. Curious to see how this turns out.

They'll just bus their newly unhoused out to blue states and leave them there. Wouldn't be the first time.
