Edit to add: Oh, some countries - like Italy - make it easy for descendants of emigrants to become citizens. So if you can prove that one of your grandparents came from Italy, then you've got a ticket to a European passport.

I have read that if one of my parents was born and raised in Canada I can be a Canadian citizen. That was my Mom, born and raised 40 miles NNW of Toronto. It is something I certainly keep in mind.

I have read that if one of my parents was born and raised in Canada I can be a Canadian citizen. That was my Mom, born and raised 40 miles NNW of Toronto. It is something I certainly keep in mind.

I have a grandmother who was Canadian, not sure that helps. But we both have graduate degrees and with a short course in French qualify for residency.
