"Please be mad about immigrants again instead of Dear Leader being a child rapist."

... Wouldn't duty-free mass cattle imports drive the price of beef down, not up?

We don't have a "migrant" problem, we have a "magarant" problem.

A lot of it is that MTG is another huge narcissist who has no true loyalty to anyone but herself.
She makes a good weathervane. If she thinks Trump is losing his base, I'm inclined to believe her. Now we get to navigate our way through the turmoil of various parties fighting to enter the power vacuum.

MAGA world celebrates Trump ending coffee and steak tariffs - that he put in place

Some in MAGA world are celebrating President Donald Trump’s decision to slash tariffs on food — levies that he put in place just months ago.

Trump first implemented a broad range of tariffs on food products in April, when he announced his so-called “Liberation Day” - reciprocal levies on dozens of nations. At the time, the White House said that the U.S. cannot “long survive if it cannot produce its own food.”

But, on Friday, Trump signed an executive order removing tariffs from more than 200 agricultural staples, including beef, coffee, orange juice and bananas. It marks the latest reversal for the president, who has long championed tariffs as a cornerstone of his trade policy, memorably describing the word tariff as “the most beautiful word in the dictionary.”

I've watched Trump for a long time. Nothing shocks. Then he defended a murderer | Opinion
Trump and MBS met the media in the Oval Office to announce Saudi investments in the United States. Not long into it, ABC News reporter Mary Bruce asked the questions everyone should be asking: "Is it appropriate, Mr. President, for your family to be doing business in Saudi Arabia while you're president? Is that a conflict of interest?"

And then, the big one: "Your royal highness, the U.S. intelligence concluded that you orchestrated the brutal murder of a journalist. 9/11 families are furious that you are here in the Oval Office. Why should Americans trust you? And the same to you, Mr. President?"

This was the encouraging part. Bruce was referring to Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, who was murdered inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018. U.S. intelligence officials released a report in 2021 that determined MBS orchestrated the murder.
After his usual song-and-dance about fake news and attacking the media and ABC News, Trump defended his family's business interests in Saudi Arabia, saying he has nothing to do with it. Absurd on its face, but this was nothing. Then came the disgusting part.

"You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial," he said of Khashoggi. "A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it, and we can leave it at that. You don't have to embarrass our guest."
Yeah, things happen. Don't go embarrassing the people who cause it to happen.

Texas Repubs have of course asked the Supremes to allow them do what they want.

A panel of three federal judges has blocked Texas from using a new gerrymandered congressional map in the 2026 election, dealing a significant blow to President Donald Trump’s national effort to rig the midterm vote by creating more Republican congressional seats at the expense of minority voters.
In a scathing opinion, Judge Jeffrey Brown, a Trump appointee, wrote that the Republican attempt to redistrict was not just about politics. Rather, "[ s ]ubstantial evidence shows that Texas racially gerrymandered the 2025 Map."

Brown opened his opinion with a quote from Chief Justice John Roberts: “The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.”
Ooh. Way to kick some preparatory dirt in the Chief SCOTUS' face, Judge Brown.

Lindsay Halligan, President Donald Trump's handpicked U.S. attorney who brought charges against former FBI Director James Comey, told a judge Wednesday that the full grand jury that indicted Comey did not see the indictment -- only the foreperson and another grand juror did.
Who would think that an insurance lawyer who had never presented to a grand jury before would make a such a Basic. Fucking. Error.
