That assumes there are some oligarchs left by the end of all this mess.

Oh pulease, pay a little bit more attention to the details, yeah? Thanks.

I was talking about the Ukrainian oligarchs only. Ukraine is a corrupt country, in which in the shadows some oligarchs are running big parts of the show. These oligarchs are still there and will be there probably after the Russian war has ended, and they will continue to be a problem in the near future. Ironically in the series "Servant of the people" this is being pictured many times how the oligarchs run the show in the shadows. Ironically Zelensky is quite cuddly with at least one oligarch himself, I mean the tv station which aired his comedy belongs to one. So you probably cannot do that without his conesent. Also in 2019's presendital run Poroshenko accused Zelensky to have received 41 millions by one oligarch. Well, at least it's well known that Zelensky has some shady offshore company structure in place to hide his wealth, and many of his friends have bought real estate in London.

About the Russian oligarchs: totally different topic. But I am pretty sure that many of them will continue to exist, namely the ones which do support Putin at large. Just two less of them doesn't mean much in the big picture.

but Ukraine has less of a right wing/fascism problem than most Western European countries.
Nope, nope, nope, nope and nope. Not true.

Ukraine is barely a starting democracy and incomparable with Western Europe's democracies.
The Western European ultra right wingers are more to the left than the conservative parts of the Republicans in America.

How does someone challenge the Oligarchs? I don’t see that happening in the US, or any other country, so don't understand the process. What is the expectation?
Didn't France figure it out? You eat rhem or something I think.

Since the start of the war much of the Ukrainian press has been streamlined, German word would be Gleichschaltung for it. All major tv channels now have only one news show called United News.

The news in these shows is being monitored by government. This is doable as it seems under Ukraine's martial low, but still noteworthy.

Furthermore Zelensky shut down several TV stations which he accused to have Russian ties, and banned several parties. These parties were in the past anti joining the EU and NATO, some still have seats in the parliament. Also they opposed the invasion of Russia. But due to their stance on the topic EU and NATO Zelensky accused them of being pro Russian, and banned them.

Opposition political parties banned in Ukraine and 'unified information policy' imposed : Peoples Dispatch (very left wing site)

State media has been promoting the idea that the Kremlin’s offensive in Ukraine stalled because Russian troops are fighting not only local troops, but “all of NATO.” With Russia’s losses rapidly mounting, so do the explicit threats of retaliation, voiced by the Kremlin’s most prominent mouthpieces. On state television, watched by millions, hosts and experts routinely laugh about the possibility of destroying Western cities with nuclear strikes.
During his appearance on 60 Minutes, State Duma deputy Andrey Isaev, complained about the recent statement by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, whom he quoted as saying: “In the event of the use of weapons of mass destruction, the U.K. reserves the right to strike back on its own, without consulting with other NATO countries.” Fuming, Isaev retorted: “We can also conduct a nuclear strike against Great Britain without consulting with NATO. Great Britain is an excellent target in that sense.” Mocking the garland adorning Johnson’s neck during his recent trip to India, Isaev said: “The noose that was placed around the neck of Mr. Johnson during his trip to India suits him well.”

Read the room, doofus. It was a JOKE.
'fraid you also have to read the OP as well, Beebo. Humor is ... subjective. And it's not something you can really take a class for. Well, you can, but it probably won't be very good.

On the other hand, the thought of oligarchs falling all around the world, not just in Russia, is ... very pleasant :)

Seems to me that, whatever the outcome of the war, Ukraine, Russia and Europe as a whole will all be very different places, and in unpredictable ways, from what they were in February.
