1) The fact that Trump still has a shadow of a chance proves that nearly half of America's voters completely lack the capacity to make a rational and informed decision.
Let's not forget that millions of voters are robbed of their vote every election with various methods, like scaremongering of the black and others. American presidential elections are always sabotaged at a disturbingly large scale all over the nation, mostly by the GOP.

Does it? Really?

Because it doesn't seem like it requires a rocket scientist to recognize the absolute disregard for law, due process, separation of powers, equality, basic civility and human decency, women, minorities, non-Christians and LGBTQ+ that's repeatedly on display with that fucking narcissistic felon and his sociopathic suck-ups and their gun waving rebellious constituents.

It doesn't require being 'easily manipulated' to say "I DON'T WANT THEM IN CHARGE, a goddamned brain eating zombie would make a more honorable president than those idiot sell-outs whose goals seems to be to stay out of prison, subordinate the working class and destroy the government so the wealthy never have to compete with anyone other than themselves."

They're giving him too much credit. The guy is too senile to interpret a doorknob. His 'support team' is the closest thing to a shadow government since Regan. It's all just a grand bamboozle on him and everyone who believes in him. And, Reddit? Really?
Nah, you’re wrong. And your opinion place info is posted has nothing to do with the quality of the content.

It doesn't matter if Biden is senile (he's not). There are only two choices: a frail, elderly statesman who won't rock the boat or a raving narcissistic lunatic who will completely dismantle our government by kicking out competent civil service employees and replacing them with incompetent sycophants.

There are no "good" choices, but there's a "not so good" choice versus a "complete fucking disaster" choice. It really shouldn't be that hard a decision to make. The fact that so many people embrace Door #2 or, like you, just shrug off the difference, is a symptom that the culture of the U.S. is deeply broken.

Joke's on you. I never paid attention in school. Dropped out somewhere around the 9th grade. Flunked too often to be fully aware of which grade I was actually in at the time. =^-^=

I got to be honest... if you're proudly ignorant and uneducated, why are you so adamantly sharing your opinion on complicated civic matters?

Because opinions are not a matter of education.
Because too many proudly ignorant and uneducated people actually vote and that's why we're stuck in this 'lesser of two evils' circus.

More than 333 million people, one of the oldest democracies in the world, the by far most expensive campaigns in the world and the choice for presidency is too old or too mentally sick.
Nothing wrong with the system you all.

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'

We seen it here today, y’all.

Nothing lasts forever. All large-scale governance systems go through a life cycle that begins in idealism and ends in corruption and/or collapse. Democracy in the U.S. is no exception.

Humans are, by their nature, unruly beasts, and we evolved to live in small groups. Our recent shift into huge masses of people trying to co-exist outside of a tribal structure is still very much a work in progress.

So what the fuck is Biden NOT doing because he is too fucking old? I am sick of hearing MAGA talking points repeated as if they were true. What should Biden be doing right fucking now but he can't because of his age?

Be specific.

Better yet, give me a name. Who the fuck could do a better job and have a snowball's chance in hell of winning this election? Who could havce won an open primary and uited Democrats and independant voters? Who could take over the ticket right fucking now and win?

I am sick of hearing this shit from people with no fucking solutions.

I have no solutions, I'm no American. I'm not far into American politics. We have our own idiots in The Netherlands that get way to much votes.
I only write what I see at the moment.
I guess there are no easy fixes for these elections and I do understand the frustration about the possibility that the baboon returns in the Oval Office. I'm frustrated about that too.

These elections are what they are, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a huge problem that needs to be fixed for the future.
Lessons will have to be learned from the current situation: Once and never again.
System changes are needed IMHO to guaranty a solid functioning democracy. A puppet with non-elected handlers behind the scene is not my idea of an ideal democracy, even if it is far better than the baboon back at the wheel.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone here say the US system is great, quite the opposite, so I’m not sure who you are referring to by “you all”.

But right now, at this moment in time, what would you have Americans do? Not vote and increase the chance for Trump to win? Do you think Project 2025 will make the system better?

I would think that the best way to make the tide start turning back to the other way is by having the Dems win by a larger margin than the last time.

Small steps.

Just saying the system sucks so what’s the use isn’t helping at all.
