God, that is powerful stuff. I am reminded why Kamala was my first choice back in 2020, though I am glad at the time Biden won out. I think the past 3 years have made her more prepared to lead, certainly more than anyone else in the party (except perhaps Hillary). I am excited by the momentum, and the way she is rising to the occasion before her. It is going to be a long few months filled with racist and misogynistic attacks, but I think she has a real chance to beat Trump in November. We cannot go back.

"President Trump is thrilled with the choice he made with Senator Vance, and they are the perfect team to take back the White House. And any reporting to the contrary is nothing but ridiculous fake news from either non-existent sources or individuals who have no idea what's going on," Cheung said.
Okay, that confirms that Vance is toast already.

"Meanwhile, Democrats are in complete disarray after their coup that forcibly removed Biden from the campaign, proving they are the real threats to democracy."
What I feared most from Biden dropping out was the "complete disarray" that would ensue. If this is disarray, give me more! Dems have come together so fast it made my head spin. Far beyond my wildest dreams of unity and a seamless transition.

If shattering expectations for fundraising is complete disarray than yes, we need more! The way they are trying to twist this just shows they are lost and don't really know what to do. I admit I'm slightly worried they might have better dirt on her they are saving, but so far all they got are the way she laughs and some sexist and racist dog whistling (often more than a whistle if you look at the internet trolls). Oh, and her popular centrist positions in contrast to the far right Project 2025.

I'm willing to bet more bad stuff comes out about Vance. He was a relatively unvetted Junior Senator and it looks like Trump kind of picked him on impulse.

Why is dirt an issue for Dems when it really obviously isn't an issue for the GOP? I mean seriously, Kamala may have a smudge here or there, but Trump is covered with mud from his toes to the top of his head. The double-standard really tees me off.

You know I agree with you, but I'm not the one that has to be convinced. Trump's cult doesn't care that he's a freaking serial rapist but swing voters need to feel like Harris is perfect.... I don't understand it either.

I can understand Trump having 2nd thoughts on Vance. While I don't have any deep knowledge, I did hear him discuss his book on C-Span (via an old podcast) some years back and he seemed fairly sane, if still Republican. Having grown up poor he has some sympathies and understandings a lot of his ilk just plain lack.

The place and culture he talks about in "Hillbilly Elegy" - to think someone can survive and prosper in that messed up shithole is ... amazing, really. It's a land my upper-Midwestern "Things just work here because we pay attention / give a damn" sensibilities just have a real problem comprehending.

Because last time there was "Dirt" it was some bull shit about emails.

Also, for the GOP, they are beyond double standards.

Double for being a Democrat.

Double again for being a minority ethnicity.

Double again for being a woman.

I know I am just one person, but the last week or whatever its been has made me feel allot better about Harris being elected.

I main worry now is more the GOP will weasel some bull shit about not allowing ballot updates to literally steal the election.

Also the impending riot that makes Jan 6 look like the "peaceful protest" they claim it was when these stupid idiots get crushed in a blue landslide in lots of races across the country because everyone is finally sick of it all.

This sure won't help him:

I can't wait to wear my new purple "Miserable childless cat lady" t-shirt! It's on order as of last night.
Both of my kiddos have long ago become adults and are living on their own, so I guess I'm technically a "miserable childless cat lady" too!

Back in 2016, Andrea Leadsom had to pull out of the final stage of the Conservative Party leadership election caused by David Cameron's resignation, thus leaving Theresa May as the sole candidate, because the outrage caused when her
comments in an interview with The Times were interpreted as hinting that her being a mother meant that she was a better choice for Prime Minister than May, who has not been able to have children for health reasons, because it meant that she had "a very real stake" in the future.

Then again, the next leader of our Conservative Party is quite likely to be Kemi Badenoch, who is both Black and a woman, though she does have children.
