Thanks, Beebo, but that simply reports what someone on Twitter says. His profile reads (in its entirety)

I wonder if there is some more substantial corroboration than "somebody who says they're in France claims."

It's a good story, but it leaves me wondering what the payment terms actually were. Not that I know anything about organising such events, but I'd expect a bus company either to invoice the organisers after the event or to want payment in advance. The reference to "their repeated requests for payment " suggests the latter, but in that case, if they hadn't been paid up-front, why provide any buses to take Trump's supporters to the event in the first place? The idea they'd take the attendees to the site and then, in effect, try to hold them hostage against payment of their invoice seems a bit far-fetched.

Someone else on Twitter, who seemed to be posting from the rally while the debacle was proceeding, said that he'd spoken to a bus driver who'd told him the problem was that the garage had run out of fuel for the buses, thus necessitating a long trip to another garage, and several buses had run out of fuel trying to get there. I have some questions about that, too, but I wonder if there's any reason to prefer one version to the other.

ETA: This report suggests that, by the time Trump's speech finished (presumably because the event over-ran, as his rallies seem frequently to do), the bus drivers' shifts had finished and they'd gone home. That I can believe, particularly if California (or the bus company's insurers) has rules about how long drivers can work without an 8-hour break.

And yet another story I read was based on a supposed Reddit post by a user who said his father was one of those bus drivers. By this account the drivers walked off because this person's father had been assaulted by a rally attendee.

So yeah, nothing is clear yet. I wonder if the major media outlets care enough to figure out what really went wrong.

Polinews.org doesn't appear on the MediaBias site, but rather appears to be possibly associated with 'PoliticalTribune' with far left/mixed reliability.

With the proliferation of random yellow journalism and the general uselessness of major media protecting Trump, it's hard to tell what's real here.

Make of this what you will:
The actual reason trump supporters got stranded : r/CoachellaValley (reddit.com)

Heya. The male driver was my dad...

My father was attacked at a rally

He works for the bus company that was doing transportation for the rally in Coachella. The rally didn't think about the logistics of 15k people and the buses weren't enough.

People got angry and began to riot. Throwing themselves in front of buses, banging on the windows and doors, and attacked two bus drivers. (One female driver was spit on by an elderly woman. The woman had to be restrained by another person from grabbing the driver by the hair)

The other driver was my father. He is a veteran and served in Vietnam and has head trauma from the war and from an car accident years ago...he was sucker punched from behind the head while he was walking outside his bus. He has a broken nose and hopefully his prior head trauma isn't worsen but won't know until some time. (He did get a CAT scan) He didn't see who hit him and he lost vision temporarily in his right eye (it's back now).

I just cannot understand this cult of violence and hate. My dad is 70 and what a coward to hit someone from behind because of something that was not my dad's fault.

The news didn't report this and even riot police showed up because of this behavior with the buses...

Just had to vent and get this off my chest. I just am angry and sad at the state of our political climate

That narrows it down. It was either a Black Friday sale at Macy's or a classic Trump rally - spit is extra.

try to hold them hostage
I disagree. They were not being held hostage. They were free to leave at any time by any means they wanted. Could have called an Uber (makes lots of drivers happy), taken public transportation, called family or a friend. Stranded? Perhaps. Hostages? Hardly.

That was part of Innula's point about it being "far-fetched."

It's a question. I was reading the OP as anti but perhaps she's stupid and believes that getting those people is a good thing. Who is Mila Joy?

Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke has officially endorsed the Green Party nominee Jill Stein over Donald Trump due to Trump's stance on Israel.

Duke, an antisemitic white supremacist, said the candidates' stances on Israel had led him to make "one of the most important statements that I have ever made politically."

"I endorse for president of the United States Green Party candidate, Dr. Jill Stein," Duke said on his radio show on Monday. "Although Dr. Stein and I obviously have our differences on important issues, she's the only candidate who speaks clearly against the war in the Middle East."

Duke acknowledged that his endorsement of the far-left candidate would "shock" his supporters, but said that his decision was based on what is "good for white people, Europeans, as well as all humanity."

He said Stein was the only major candidate "brave enough to call out Israel's massacre of Palestinians in Gaza, the genocide that is going on right now, and the damage it's doing to the American people."

Stein said she rejected the endorsement from Duke.

"A racist troll has 'endorsed' our campaign to draw attention to himself, and certain smear merchants are happy to platform this troll to attack us," Stein wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

"Of course I reject any 'endorsement' from a white supremacist like David Duke, unlike Kamala Harris who can't stop bragging about her endorsement from white supremacist mass murderer Dick Cheney."
