Wow, just wow.
Like, if it was 'This is hitting a bit closer to home than we as Europeans are comfortable with' in whatever words, then I could see it, but that's some really bad word choice all around. Also, 'this isn't syrian' refugees' WTF - then it was 'They aren't real refugees because iphones' and now its, 'Omg, all these middle class europeans'?
Ugh.
And I'm with Ibram - I'm upset because people are dying, though I'll admit I'm a little more upset right now, since if dna testing sites are right, I've family living over there - I've even talked to a Russian cousin [we figure we're related via some of her Ukrainian relatives]. So, there is a little bit of a personal stake.
But that thread made me rethink the 'I'm proud of European heritage for a change'
