LOL. NOTHING is wrong. I meant no insult. I liked her just fine till the recent accusations. ...I'm reserving judgement till she says more about her side of things or to see what the court finds.
They can act a bit dramatic at times :p .

I WILL LITERALLY STAB EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD, but it will have to wait until after I finish setting up the lights for my class's performance of Godspell.

It’s not exactly news that Luigi Mangione, the accused killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, is a viral sensation. He’s been debated, lusted after, and idolized. There are even calls for Dave Franco to play him in a movie. However, in an age of populist rage, it appears that web platforms are increasingly cracking down on content associated with him, for fear that the widespread idolization may turn violent.

Slate recently noted that some forums on Reddit had been getting censored for their discussion of the accused killer. One long-running subreddit, /r/popculture, was reportedly “closed” by the platform after its mods failed to quell the ongoing discussion of Mangione. The action followed an unusual warning from the site’s safety team, RedditSafety, that stated that subreddits that violated content policies and upvoted “violent content” would receive a warning.

Eve, now 25, was 17 when her father, Nigel, was knocked off his bicycle returning home from work as a delivery driver in Hirwaun, Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Her school bus was among the traffic that stopped at the scene in the immediate aftermath, and she saw that her father was involved.

"I was essentially on a bus full of other children that were filming and taking pictures and it was incredibly distressing," said Eve.

"He was treated by the air ambulance and people filmed his treatment."
It goes on to say,
Insp Lambley said police being filmed by members of the public is common, and said she accepted that officers must be held accountable.

"But when we see the impact it has on people that we're dealing with as victims of crime or traumatic incidents like car accidents or stabbings, it really hurts, because it completely contradicts what we're trying to do.

"On some occasions they're using their phone to livestream people in - sometimes - their last moments."
She recalled one incident where a 15-year-old boy had died and after attempting to resuscitate him, she and colleagues became aware that a member of the public had taken a photo and circulated on social media that the teenager had died.

She said she had been trained to deliver "a death message" with dignity, meaning they would take time to compose themselves before breaking the news to relatives.

"In this case I literally had to run from the scene to the house of this boy's parents, looking dishevelled and out of breath and bang on their door and say 'I'm really sorry, your son is dead'.

"That's not how I ever wanted to deliver that message, but I felt I had to get there before social media. You're running against something that you have no control over.

TikTok, Veo 3 AI-video generation, and race. Sounds like a great mix...

The release of Google's Veo 3 video generator in May represented a disconcerting leap in AI video quality. While many of the viral AI videos we've seen are harmless fun, the model's pixel-perfect output can also be used for nefarious purposes. On TikTok, which may or may not be banned in the coming months, users have noticed a surplus of racist AI videos, courtesy of Google's Veo 3.

According to a report from MediaMatters, numerous TikTok accounts have started posting AI-generated videos that use racist and antisemitic tropes in recent weeks. Most of the AI vitriol is aimed at Black people, depicting them as "the usual suspects" in crimes, absent parents, and monkeys with an affinity for watermelon. The content also targets immigrants and Jewish people. The videos top out at eight seconds and bear the "Veo" watermark, confirming they came from Google's leading AI model.

Jack Dorsey, a primary founder of twitter, is trying to launch this thing he calls bitchat. First, is that bit chat or bitch at? Who knows if that was intentional or he is blind. Second, he is trying to make this work via bluetooth? That only has a range of maybe 1000 feet or so at best.

Seems that's something that should have been happening all along, huh?

On Sunday, Block CEO and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey launched an open source chat app called Bitchat, promising to deliver “secure” and “private” messaging without a centralized infrastructure.

The app relies on Bluetooth and end-to-end encryption, unlike traditional messaging apps that rely on the internet. By being decentralized, Bitchat has potential for being a secure app in high-risk environments where the internet is monitored or inaccessible. According to Dorsey’s white paper detailing the app’s protocols and privacy mechanisms, Bitchat’s system design “prioritizes” security.
But the claims that the app is secure, however, are already facing scrutiny by security researchers, given that the app and its code have not been reviewed or tested for security issues at all — by Dorsey’s own admission.
Since launching, Dorsey has added a warning to Bitchat’s GitHub page: “This software has not received external security review and may contain vulnerabilities and does not necessarily meet its stated security goals. Do not use it for production use, and do not rely on its security whatsoever until it has been reviewed.”

This warning now also appears on Bitchat’s main GitHub project page but was not there at the time the app debuted.
