The gore I think is new, but I follow the Instagram Subreddit, and a lot of people have been complaining for a while about how much porn there is in IG especially on any new account.
FUCK. I was very willing to give Palmer the benefit of the doubt till reading the above. It sounds like she had a golden opportunity to do the right thing and failed. It sounds like Palmer was disgusted by Gaiman's actions and divorced him because of it, but stopped short of handing him over to the police and doing enough to support and protect the victim. I can understand being in shock at learning a loved one did something so horrible, but it sounds like she likely knew for a time and didn't do enough.
I'm still curious to hear what Palmer might have to say in her defense. MAYBE Gaiman threatened her against going to the police.... But short of something like that she clearly had a catastrophic failure.
Alimony or some other form of recurring settlement payment? Gaiman has made a LOT of money ...
From what I can tell, neither of them are as rich as you might expect relative to name recognition. But who knows. I'm sure there were plenty of ways he could have threatened her in regards to their child or other things.
Economic Times has him at a net worth of $18 million, so you're right; it's not mega-money, but it ain't chicken feed either. Presumably, there's revenue from global copyrights and performance rights (the guy even does his own audiobook voiceovers), so it will be a long income stream that will provide a tidy income and continue to enrich the estate after he passes. It will no doubt be diminished by the scandal, yes, but still -- considerable cash flow. (By way of comparison, Stephen King's net worth is estimated to be in the half-a-billion range.)

Yeah, I have always kind of gotten the impression that Gaiman is famous online and with "nerd circles" but not much outside of that.

Same with Amanda Palmer. Her music mostly just seems to appeal to theater nerds. It never really took off.
