To be fair, they’re not just plastic, they’re thermal. A good thermal mug is usually not cheap. But certain brands are more popular among different groups (yoga, etc.) and are fads so $$$. Get one too cheap and it leaks, or breaks easily. A bit silly to buy more than one, but people will collect anything ha ha. Keyboards, phone covers, etc.

I have developed this weird fascination with Nextdoor. I don't really post on it, but it has all these weird quirks with it's "regulars".

This one person was posting their drawings. They were not super great, but hey, whatever, more power to them.

I guess they got mocked by some users. They deleted their drawings and posted that they were not going to post them anymore over it.

And a bunch of people came to their defense. Which was nice.

If anything, good or not, the drawings are a nice change from all the ads and lost pet and "suspicious person" posts.

There is an estate seller in town that we know and are friendly with and go tomhis sales a lot. Normally he posts photos from his sales on his FB profile. He has been having trouble lately because Facebook's auto mod tools flagged one of his photos as "pornographic".

Because he posted a photo, of this Rolling Stones album. Not even a straight image, a photo of a record.

People on Bluesky and Mastodon are fighting over how to bridge the two decentralized social networks, and whether there should even be a bridge at all. Behind the snarky GitHub comments, these coding conflicts aren’t frivolous — in fact, they could shape the future of the internet.

Mastodon is the most established decentralized social app to date. Last year, Mastodon ballooned in size as people sought an alternative to Elon Musk’s Twitter, and now stands at 8.7 million users. Then Bluesky opened to the general public last week, adding 1.5 million users in a few days and bringing its total to 4.8 million users.

Bluesky is on the verge of federating its AT Protocol, meaning that anyone will be able to set up a server and make their own social network using the open source software; each individual server will be able to communicate with the others, requiring a user to have just one account across all the different social networks on the protocol. But Mastodon uses a different protocol called ActivityPub, meaning that Bluesky and Mastodon users cannot natively interact.

This article isn't interesting except that it says reddit is doing its ipo next month. That is the first I have heard of that. It has already gone aways down the tubes. We shall see if whoever buys it also completely destroys it.

Or maybe sub moderators.

I got an invite on my main Reddit Account, which I have not used since they killed 3rd party apps, but has like 750,000 karma.

But non of the dozens of other smaller Reddit accounts I have.
