The only thing that I see in the Barr report which means anything, is that he explicitly says there are no sealed federal indictments.

This is a guy who said there wasn't anything in the Mueller report... a month before he got the job. Of course his summary says there wasn't anything in the report.

Now maybe the full report comes out and that turns out to be correct- Mueller is a cop after all. So if there's nothing in the full report then this was just a waste of time, sure. But i'm fine waiting til then, not going to take the word of a hack who has been a hack since Iran-Contra.

Just a general reminder that the burden of proof for indicting the sitting president of the United States SHOULD be very high. This year it's Trump, but next time around it could be a Dem president being hounded by the GOP, much as they hounded Clinton. Lowering the bar for Trump would set a very dangerous precedence.

I agree with this in principle, but but GOP has shown they don't give a shit. They don't need Democrats to lower the indictment bar before they feel comfortable doing it. If they can get away with it they'll do it no matter what we've done previously.

Did I miss something? Outside of a very few people nobody has read the report. Everyone immediately started screaming it fully justified their POV (no matter what it was). Reading tweets about it highlights this.

The Many Problems With the Barr Letter (NY Times)

First, obviously, he still faces the New York investigations into campaign finance violations by the Trump team and the various investigations into the Trump organization. And Mr. Barr, in his letter, acknowledges that the Mueller report “does not exonerate” Mr. Trump on the issue of obstruction, even if it does not recommend an indictment.

But the critical part of the letter is that it now creates a whole new mess. After laying out the scope of the investigation and noting that Mr. Mueller’s report does not offer any legal recommendations, Mr. Barr declares that it therefore “leaves it to the attorney general to decide whether the conduct described in the report constitutes a crime.” He then concludes the president did not obstruct justice when he fired the F.B.I. director, James Comey.

She wins. He has a compulsion due to his narcissism. She knows better but continues to lie every day. She does it willingly and knowingly. She's not as bad as Goebbels, YET, but she's working on it, and her defenses of locking children in cages is strongly approaching it.. What I do not get is why she is qualified to be either the Press Secretary or even worth listening to. Like Ivanka, I just don't see the qualifications for the role they play.

All I can hope for, at this point, is that there are enough of us who have simmering, perhaps explosive, anger to vote him out, and then hold our breath at whatever steps he may take to negate it calling on his supporters for violence. That depends on just how much they put their finger on the scales of democracy. We HAVE to do it if we want any hope. I never thought I'd see something like this in my lifetime, but that is where we are at.

I don't know if they actually think he's a good president or if they just like him because he "triggers the libs." Right-wing politics is very into "whatever upsets people to the left of us" for some reason.

Looks like she deleted her tweet. Interesting. For those of you who missed it, it was Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders basically declaring that the Mueller Report completely exonerated the president.

Edit: Okay, that's weird. On here, it says that the tweet is unavailable. In fact, every tweet posted here is saying that. But you click on the link, and Twitter opens up and displays the tweet just fine. Did something break on this forum? Cristiano!
