I'm American so it's none of my concern, but emotionally I don't think anyone will be able to replace her. They may as well wrap things up, put the royal holdings into a blind humanitarian trust to pay out annual endowments, and pension everyone else off.

I'm an American but when I heard the news this morning that she had died I cried. My reaction really surprised me & I find myself crying off & on since then. Much respect for a grand lady! Charles doesn't have a hope for having that much love & respect as his mother has around the world.

La Reine est mort, vive le Roi.
She'd lived so long. I felt like it was an omen, when she missed the Opening of Parliament.
My condolences to her family, and to all her subjects.

I can understand that some may not appreciate humour at a time like this (although one could argue it is very "British" to make fun in dark times).

I think I've been very good considering where I come from. I've not posted anything disparaging about what she represents to many communities around the world out of respect to those here who may be truly sad to hear of her passing. And as I've posted earlier, her death even affected me.

The fruit of her loins is now smiling, shaking hands, and kissing his well-wishers on tv right now, and is now effectively my king. Just like that. Life goes swimmingly along for the institution, I guess.

Personally, the gushing is turning my stomach., but I wouldn't wish boiling bleach down anyone's throat. And by calling this guy a (shit)gibbon, I'm going to be nice and assume you just wanted to use any old slur and that's just the one you came up with.

Too soon?

I have no clue where this is all about.
And really have no idea if this "elves can't be black" is funny, snarky or whatever.
How this relates with the passing away of the Queen beats me.
But it sure seems to upset Tirella for some reason.

I read that so many people are touched by the Queen's death. Apart from that, thatv as far as I can remember, she never seemed unsympathetic, so apart from that, I think the Queen has always been there, all our lives. Perhaps this event reminds us that nothing is permanent. Even the world that one might have seen as God-given as a child, as a teenager, disappears bit by bit.
