What did LL do now? Hadn't been there in a while but all I see is they added a couple of subforums. Am I missing something?
They made new guidelines for General Discussions and other sections:
They came up with the great idea that going of topic in a thread is totally forbidden.
It is forbidden to start a thread that is non SL related too.
Great way of community building. That is after all what they call their pages a community.

I can totally see that they don't want discussions about politics or controversial topics, don't want personal attacks etc.
But this?
In one word: ridiculous.

I wonder if it is forbidden to go of topic at the coffee machine at the LL office as well.
They expect their forum members to only be the minions who take care of questions about the flaws in their software and platform for free.

A pity, because I met several nice people over there last year.
But I ain't gonna walk on eggshells, to not get suspended over there and I ain't addicted to that forum just like I am to this one, so I threw my towel into the ring there.

It is yes. Or at least it was when I was there in aught-6, 7, and 9 as dictated by the Tao. People actually stepped out of the office, onto the sidewalk, to discuss non-SL related items. Times change. May be different now.

That explains a lot than.
Of topic talks and events are the cement of a company and every other community. It is team building for free.

That's why I stopped posting over there long ago. So, they've tightened up their assholes since. Amusing but not surprising.

I've long since come to the conclusion that LL simply does not care why the residents use the grid or the forum and never will care just as long as 50k people keep pumping their extra money into SL. Or the money they should have spent on rent.

It is a pity. When I left that forum, I had made a friend or two I didn't have. Now I don't have them anymore and it's back to square one.

VVO is the only "home" I have left on the internet. When it's gone from the internet, I probably will be, too.

The difference is all of you will be missed by someone. No one will even notice I'm gone. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not the kind of place I'd want to work. Sounds like a dictatorship.

It was a triumvirate and, interestingly, Philip was already bridled and reined so not one of them. I never worked for LL BTW. Residents used to know Lindens and attend brainstorming workshops at the Lab. Days of yonder lore, alas, they are gone. alas

Yes, you would be missed if you left... you were missed last time you took a break as well!

Khamon *is* Philip’s alt in some branes but not this one. Back on off on topic: the last Feted Inner Conference I attended, in 2009, was graced with the presence of Strife who singlehandedly reduced the community landscape of the official forum to the subway tile it is today. One always hoped it would recover, but, Linden Lab.

We now have no idea what this thread is supposed to be.

Okay - I know this is a regular occurence in SL. But, I rezzed to my mainland parcel (since I have premium +) and there was a car sitting in front of my house. I have both build and object entry turned off on my parcel - how did this fucker get that car onto my land?

Then, he rezzed in and wanted to know what I was doing in his house (he apparently didn't notice I built the house), so I banned him.

Vehicles (defined as any object being sat on) ignore a lot of restrictions so you don't fly over a parcel a kilometer below and have your plane kicked off the grid and you're stuck in a sitting position as you fly over six sims and finally disconnect badly and you try and log in again and it tells you you can't log in because you're being logged out..

Set return.

So can someone get a sofa or a chair in as long as they come in wearing it?
