For the most part, politicians at the highest level supported him.

Generally, if the US can increase power in our part of the world, they will support slaughter in other parts of the world.

From the Rolling Stone Article above

Reviewing one of Kissinger’s litany of books, Hillary Clinton in 2014 said Kissinger, “a friend” whose counsel she relied upon as secretary of state, possessed “a conviction that we, and President Obama, share: a belief in the indispensability of continued American leadership in service of a just and liberal order.” Kissinger told USA Today within days that Clinton, presumed then to be a president-in-waiting, “ran the State Department in the most effective way that I’ve ever seen.” The same story noticed a photograph autographed by Obama thanking Kissinger for his “continued leadership.”

It’s always valuable to hear the reverent tones with which American elites speak of their monsters. When the Kissingers of the world pass, their humanity, their purpose, their sacrifices are foremost in the minds of the respectable. American elites recoiled in disgust when Iranians in great numbers took to the streets to honor one of their monsters, Qassem Soleimani, after a U.S. drone strike executed the Iranian external security chief in January 2020. Soleimani, whom the United States declared to be a terrorist and killed as such, killed far more people than Timothy McVeigh. But even if we attribute to him all the deaths in the Syrian Civil War, never in Soleimani’s wildest dreams could he kill as many people as Henry Kissinger.

The PRC has officially presented the Loongson 3A6000 CPU in Beijing. They declare this CPU is self-designed with key indexes comparable to global mainstream products, so from Intel and AMD obviously.
It uses 12nm technology, and has 4 cores with 2.5 Ghz frequency. The instruction set is entirely domestic. According to some it is comparable in certain areas with the Intel i3-101000 and AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPUs.
Multiple Chinese computer manufacturers have launched computers using this new CPU.

"The release shows that domestic CPUs have reached a new height in self-sufficiency and performance. It also demonstrates that China is capable of producing first-class products based on a proprietary CPU structure," Shi Huikang, an official of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, told media outlets.

So this is clearly not what Trump had on mind, when he started his little trade war and sanctions with China. But it is what you could have expected as the most likely outcome, because the Chinese always do react that way. So China has now its own CPU for desktop and probably later other use cases, using an instruction set which is entirely domestic (if true) and therefore cannot probably be attacked via patent trials.

The question is now if this CPU will gain traktion and adoption at the domestic market.

Aside that China is also producing now its own GPUs, the company behind that is ironically named "Moore Threads."

On top of that Huawei is now producing its own SoC with chip named Kirin 9000S, which is built into the Huawei Mate 60. This is uses 7 nm technology, and is still using an ARM design, but aside this is good enough to be competitive with certain Qualcomm chips from 4 years ago.

Anyway, the main take away is that Chinese chip efforts are catching up quickly. But the main problem for now is access to lithography technology, which has been severely limited.

Huh, the ISA is reportedly like a cross between MIPS64 and RISC-V. I wonder why they didn't just pick one or the other? Especially since MIPS themselves have switched to RISC-V...

Ahead of the ruling, I asked Sergei Troshin, a municipal deputy in St Petersburg who came out as gay last year, what effect it would have.
"I think this will mean that anyone whom the state considers an LGBT activist could receive a long prison sentence for 'participating in an extremist organisation'," he said.
"For the organiser of such a group, the prison term will be even longer.
"This is real repression. There is panic in Russia's LGBT community. People are emigrating urgently. The actual word we're using is evacuation. We're having to evacuate from our own country. It's terrible

Well, I have a guess here: the Communist Party of China wants to create two technospheres, one the technology used on the domestic market and second the one for export. So maybe this is their way of implementing this.

“I’ll never forget the first time I met Dr. Kissinger. I was a young Senator, and he was Secretary of State —giving a briefing on the state of the world. Throughout our careers, we often disagreed. And often strongly,” Biden said in his statement.

“But from that first briefing — his fierce intellect and profound strategic focus was evident,” he continued. “Long after retiring from government, he continued to offer his views and ideas to the most important policy discussion across multiple generations. Jill and I send our condolences to his wife Nancy, his children Elizabeth and David, his grandchildren, and all those who loved him.”

I mean, no hurry or anything. 😱
According to the article, it had been sitting there for over a hundred years, so they must have thought another day wouldn't hurt.

Mr Edwards said he had been told the history of the bomb by the Morris family, whose relative used to own the house. They said he had found it more than 100 years ago.

USA version, someone mentions a possible Civil War shell in someone’s garden that’s been there 100 years.

Five fire engines, eight ambulances, neighbourhood evacuated, National Guard mobilized and a cop shoots someone’s dog.
